Hi, was taking Elavil for 18 months for nerve pain from a botched surgery,, not for depression. I found the drug has left me with some troubling problems, lack of being organized, difficulty completing tasks, a sense of never getting anything done. Decision making and procrastination are also a problem. This is from someone who was the complete opposite. It has been a few years since this started and I was wondering if anyone else has had the similar behavioral changes from this drug.

Are you sure it is the medication and not a coincidence? What type of surgery did you have? Neurontin is often used for nerve pain. It is hard to say that the drug caused the problem. But I think the best thing would be to talk to your doctor about it. I have never taken elavil myself so I am not much help. But there may be others that have taken it and had the same experience.

Almost 100% sure it is related to the drug. Had ACL surgery where Dr. compromised the peroneal nerve. Tried Nurantin too, did not relieve the pain.

Wow, I am sorry to hear this. Neurontin did nothing for me but made me stutter. I hope the effects go away soon. I would talk to the doctor about this. If you haven't already... I hope that you feel better soon.
