Doxycycline and depression

Hi everyone, I am new here. Last tuesday I started taking doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for an infection. I only stayed on it for 5 days because I started experiencing HORRIBLE depression and anxiety. I went from being happy, attentive, and active to having no hope in anything and not being able to focus on a single task. I stopped the doxy on Sunday, but since then I am still having weird symptoms of depression and especially anxiety. They have improved somewhat--I no longer feeling I have no hope in my life--but the anxiety is really bizarre. It has been especially bad when I try to work out--I go into full blown panic attacks. Does anybody know how long these effects may last after stopping doxy? It seems to be common for other people to experience depression when taking it but I'm wondering if there is a time frame for how long the symptoms continue on after you stop the medication. I am hoping that since I was only on it for 5 days that my issues will clear up in a week or so...but I'm scared. The best way for me to describe this medication is that a bus ran over my central nervous system, then backed up and ran over it some more. I feel "shredded" inside.

Hotelyorba- I took 100mg of doxy twice a day for 7 days- on the 8th day I had a severe panic attack and immideately stopped. It's now 3 days later and Im still anxious and feel very out of it. How long did it take you to feel back to normal? Thank you so much
