Disability appointment today

Today I met with a psychologist for part of my disability claim. This was the dr that disability had chosen to send me to do I was nervous that it would be a difficult appointment. I got there late ( my ride had issues with traffic) which just added to my anxiety. When my anxiety is very high I pull out my eyebrows, so I had no eyebrows at this appointment.
It was a small office with no receptionist. He was very nice. He went over my therapists notes with me and asked me questions. Not only was he very interested in my depression, anxiety, OCD, and other issues he also added some diagnoses. He told me he thinks I have PTSD from childhood abuse. He also told me to ask about some medicine changes when I see the psychiatrist on the 27. He seemed to believe in my issues and was actually very interested in my health issues. At the end he even said that he hoped I got approved because it would open more doors for me.
The appointment did show me how bad my anxiety has gotten. I hadn't realized that I had gotten so depressed again until I was answering questions. Anyway, I just wanted to share the experience because I know others of you may be in the same process of trying to get disability and I wanted to share my positive experience.

I appreciate you sharing the experience. I am in the throws of applying for long term dis. now. It can be harrowing. I am glad you had a good experience with the doctor.

That is strange. You didn't click on ignore or anything did you? If you put a thumbs down on a post, you will from then on ignore that person and you can't see their posts. Can you get disability for having depression? And if so how does it work? I'm depressed and on meds recently but I've beef depressed for years used drugs to numb my pain etc....I just quit my job becouse of depression....please help.

You can get it but that wasn't my main reason for applying. I have a rare genetic disorder that causes kidney failure, glaucoma, and other problems, I have arthritis in 5 joints, fibromyalgia, heniplegic migraines, and a problem that causes my esophagus to randomly swell shut.
