Many prayers going out to the families of lost loved ones...

We had a tragic event in Connecticut yesterday.  Many lives of young ones were lost.  It was truly an horrific event.  Anybody who would like to post about it or offer prayers, please do so.

Know that your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.  Maybe you just want to get the sadness out.  I welcome all to post about it here...

I do agree with you that it is way to easy to get guns in this country. Especially for a 20 year old or younger.

Society is so stoic to violence that nothing seems to faze them until the unbelievable happens like this.

I am not for bashing any companies or name-calling when it comes to "whose fault" it is. Because as soon as I/we point one finger, there are four pointing right back at us. It's a team effort. A country effort. A political, social, economic effort. I can't say a word about how mad or angry I am for this person doing this, until I am willing to walk down the street and make a difference in my own community. How many people do YOU, do WE, pass on a daily basis who is hurting and just wanting someone to accept them into society for who they are?

Yes, there is a difference between being responsible and being stupid, but all the same, we are called to love and to be love to even those who are our enemies. "You have heard it said to hate those who hate you and persecute those who persecute you, but I tell you to love your enemies as yourself," and to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

I know that so many people are hurting. I am not taking this situation lightly, but I am saying that good can come of this, and will come of this. AMERICA...let this be a wake up call. And if I could add one more thing, if we call ourselves Christians...it's time to start acting like one. The only fighting we can do is on bent knees before God begging for forgiveness for not taking action sooner.

I have had to stop watching the TV and listening to the radio. After suffering 15 years of abuse from 4 members of my family; I can feel the rage that 20 year old must have had.

However, I like you wonder why nobody took action early when they new there was a personality disorder. He must have shown signs of spiraling down! To go that manic and crazy!

I can here the neighbors now, "oh, he is his mothers problem" "well that is what happens when the parents drinks" etc.... heard them all my life and no one stepped up to help.

You are right, we as a community need to do more that just wave "Hi" to one another.
