I think I have just diagnosed myself. I have been treated
for CDepression for about
20 years.
Now have 3 anti-depressants and thought all was well...until
a year or so ago. I have over-whelming sleepiness during the
day...almost always between 12:30 and 3 pm.
I sleep for an hour or a bit more and wake up quite refreshed.
I have this feeling of very heavy pressure in my upper arms
such that I really cannot do much of anything.
It has been discussed and I am continually told that it has to
do with my sleep apnea...which was diagnosed about
7 years
ago. It does not.
After reading a lot on this, I realize that I have what is called
leaden paralysis with the accompanying daytime sleepiness.
It is like a fog that starts at the top of my brain and just
goes downward and then to the arms.
I do not expect my PC to have knowledge of this or what to do.
Would a psychologist be the best one to see?
I have seen a psychiatrist a few times...only a medication check...
I wasn't impressed. They always seemed to have this new
medication they wanted to prescribe and appeared to not have
much understanding of behavior issues that were not mental.
Any thoughts out there?
Many thanks

Hi So Tired,
Welcome to the depression forum. I think talking to a psychologist is a good idea. I have chronic fatigue, so I am tired all of the time. Best wishes to you. Keep on posting.
Hugs, Karen...
