Hi all, I usually post on the Anxiety/Panic Forum, but my symptoms have not been anxiety lately, just depression.
I was on 225 mg of Effexor XR, was decreased to 150 mg and today I started my decrease on 75 mg. I am so tired of being tired and depressed.
So my question is, since I will be on 75 mg for 10 days when I go back to my Dr. on April 9th, is it possible to start switching to Celexa as I continue to come down off of the Effexor? Just wanted some insight so I know what to expect (or not to expect). Or, has anyone that has taken Effexor and it "pooped out" on them taken something else other than Celexa that worked well for them?
I appreciate any feedback at all. I try to talk to my husband, but in very nice terms...he doesn't give a darn about
how I feel.
Thanks again healing well family,
Sylk

Hi Sylkmyst,
I can't answer your question, I have not went from Effexor to celexa. But I went from Effexor to pristiq. I took both at the same time. I don't know what the doc is going to do for you. Coming off of Effexor is hard for some people. The transition to pristiq went well for me. I hope that the transition to celexa goes well for you.
Try to stay in the present. It really helps with depression to not think too much about
the past or future. Being in the now is so important. There may be others to give you some input, I hope. There hasn't been many people on this weekend as it is a holiday weekend. I wish you the best.

I took both the pristiq and the Effexor at the same time. I hope you do too. It is rough going off of it if you aren't taking something else. I got very dizzy and emotional once going off of Effexor, but I didn't go on anything else until I noticed the side effects. Once I started taking something, I felt better. Do keep your doctor posted if you start feeling bad. I wish you the best.

Thank you all again. I go to my Dr. on April 9th and see what she says and go from there. One day at a time I keep telling myself. Switching is always the pits! I am so so so thankful for my healingwell family! I love you all!
