i am in early menopause, and have been on antidepressants for many years, for about the last 5 years i have been taking Cymbalta and Wellbutrin. Im starting to backslide. has anyone experienced this? and what seemed to work best? my Dr. doesn't want to put me on hormones, and I'm seeing a psychiatrist in a couple Weeks (which seems like an eternity) any help for me?

Positive thinking. Deep breathing and mindfulness. Purposely try to see the good side of things. practice smiling daily--it really can lighten your mood!

I feel the same way, Kam. Deep breaths, clear the mind, and go for a walk. Watch a comedy. Be kind to yourself, for you are worth it!

Hi Kam,

You might just need a med adjustment. Your psychiatrist will be able to help you. I was lucky, I took the same antidepressant for around 20 years before I switched to something new. I would practice what Myself said. Mindfulness really does help. I do meditation and that helps me a lot.

Hey! I'm new to the forum and saw your problem. Mine seems to be very similar. I am 46...have been on the same med Zoloft for over 10 years. Suddenly I''m not wanting to get out of the bed and crying when I am...very frustrating. My hormones may be at play and I used to use progesterone cream from the health food store. It has worked well for me but feel free to do the research. Seems to balance the hormone flux. Hang in there and I'm with you on this!! Frustrating but trying to keep hope :)
