Our smallest cat, who is also my sleeping buddy, has been acting very strange. She used to always go to bed when I did. Then shed settle on my pillow and stay there until I got up. Now she just lays in the floor. She's not eating much, won't play, hiding more, and I just noticed that her gums are pale-almost white. She has quit grooming herself.

So tomorrow I'm taking her to the vet. Just thought I'd ask you guys to keep Hunter S. Thompson , my best friend named her, in your thoughts. She's only 13 months old. Thank you.

she is in my thoughts and prayers AV. i too have been worried about my little fur-ball ( buttons) as she is not a spring chicken any more and is having seizures.

I'll keep Buttons in my prayers. It's scary when they get sick! We only have cat over 13 months old. He's 9 but acts like kitten, he's so playful and sweet.

AV, that sounds serious, I will keep Mr. HS Thompson and you in my prayers along with Buttons. I know how precious how pets are to us. Stay strong.

I am praying for all the furbabies, I know how comforting they can be. AV I hope your kittie will be okay and Jamie your little puppy dog. Buttons and Mr. H S Thompson...

We are taking Hunter to the vet in a little bit. I really love our vet. She was trying to comfort me over the phone. She knows that we think of our kitties as family members. Thank you for the prayers. I'll let you guys know what the vet says.

I have a positive story about a friends cat.

It was sick and had an infection and had to stay at vet. They eventually had to put a tube in it to be fed through because he was so dehydrated and wouldn't eat or drink. She was so worried that something was going to happen and so I told her once they got him home I could help out in feedings. I had helped feed tube kids with special needs with tube feedings so I had practice. Between her husband and I  taking turns and feeding the cat he came out of it and now you wouldn't even know he was sick. I was so worried he wasn't going to make it but he was a strong cat and did. It was such a happy ending and so not what we expected.

We just got back from the vet. Her temperature is 105 and she's lost over a pound. I knew she looked thinner. He said there are no signs of any blockage. He's thinking it may be feline leukemia. I'm so sorry worried. She's more my cat than the boy cats have ever been. She follows me to bed and sleeps on my pillow. :(

The vet is supposed to call me after they do some more testing. So hopefully I'll know sometime today.

The vet just called! The test for leukemia was negative!! He wants to keep her overnight so he can check her over to find the source of her symptoms.

Oh yay! That is great news about the leukemia !

Now to solve the mystery.

Hunter has been given the right to go home! Her apettite is back and no fever since around 2 am. The vet actually checked in on her every hour. She has to take a round of antibiotics but I'm so glad that she can come home. Thank you all for the healing prayers and thoughts. It was much appreciated.

It could have been a bug, or that she even sensed something going on in the house and it made her afraid. Cuddle with her!

She was very vocal, tried to nurse my ear, and hiding in my elbow on the ride home. As soon as I opened the doorshe jumped right into the house. She's been gobbling up food, sitting her favorite spot, all in all she seems much more herself. Now if I could get the boy kitties to quit sniffing her shed be very happy. Lol
