I have read and heard about
talk therapy online. Meaning, I heard about
talk therapy taking place on the computer and on the phone and wondering if anyone has any experience in this and yes I know, like all things, there is advantages and disadvantages. I have tried talk therapy in person and would like to do this again in person. I see a Psychiatrist for medication for depression and anxiety. Yes I see that Psychiatrist in person. Yes as I said, I'd like to see a talk therapist in person. However, there are times inbetween when I would need to talk to someone on a more personal level and can't afford to always pay out of pocket even in person and with insurance. I have a new insurance plan and looks like I might have to pay out of pocket something for the Psychiatrist. Not sure yet. According to information, the cost isn't on the lower side, but not sure if there is a sliding scale payment, but learning still. Anyhow, as I said, sometimes there are times when I need to speak to someone and can't always go days inbetween appointments. Even though yes I can talk to the Psychiatrist, it's more medication based conversation. I am wondering if there is a real talk therapist on the computer that I can speak too on the computer or on the phone. Low cost or free. I know how good they are and beneficial they are depends on the person receiving treatment and opinions vary and advice anyway from therapists will vary. Yes too I know there is sliding scale fees for therapists in person and Medicaid and all of that. However there are hours in which you cannot see a talk therapist in person. It was suggested I keep a diary or journal. I should. I used too years ago. I might try again too keep a diary or journal. It might help me to do that. However sometimes there are times when I need to speak to a person. I appreciate any and all advice.
