From lexapro to cymbalta..advice please

I saw my doctor today and she switched me to cymbalta 30mg.

She said to quit lexapro, no weaning and go directly to cymbalta. I hope she knows what's she saying. She assured me it was OK.

I always thought you had to wean before switching.

What are your thoughts on the subject?

I'M a bit nervous about quitting lexapro just like that.

Not all antidepressants have to be weaned off of. If you go off of Cymbalta, you may have to wean yourself. But a lot of medications are easy to switch. Best wishes on the Cymbalta. Remember it may take six to eight weeks for it to reach full effect.

No weaning is good thing sometimes, especially under a doc.s care. Cymbalta is awesome, should be worth the switch!

Good to see you back Carl, and merci for what you said about cymbalta changing your life!

No side effects up to date, slowly may I regain the life within me, without the anxiety nor the depression.

I dont remember what it is like to feel normal for more then 4 days, so I'm keeping hope that it will gradually bring me back to longer spans of well being.

Ah! to lead a life without those culprits, that must be close to heaven. But, as I see, I must bring certain changes in my life, nothing drastic, and slowly.
