OMG

OMG! Like you haven't had enough things go wrong lately. Is your landlord normally a jerk? You should tell him to try and stay at your house with no air conditioning and for him to not offer to pay for a motel is ridiculous! Is there someone else you can borrow fans from just so you can get some air circulating? Good Luck and it sounds like your landlord needs a very brisk kick in the u know what!

A neighbor was kind enough to open a window for me. Such a sweet little lady.

I'm not supposed to drive because I'm still on pain medication. I have my ice packs that the dr gave me out. I'm sung one and I set the others down on the floor for the kitties. They are all sprawled out on the packs.

The landlord has a history of hiring non professionals (people that do it as a side job). They never work routine hours and tend to take forever because they don't have the proper tools or parts. Since moving here two years ago our toilet broke ( was unusable for 4 days!! With only the one bathroom), the sink broke which took out the dishwasher, too ( that took over a week), and this is the fifth ac issue we've had and it's never been repaired quicker than 3 days. We also have a busted window ( the guy that mows for the landlord mowed over a bunch of big rocks and one hit that and our car). It's been broken for a month. When we moved in my son's window didn't have a screen and still doesn't. He's a nice man but horribly over his head as a landlord. He's constantly telling me about neighbors that don't pay rent and how he's going to have to evict them. In the past he's even asked me to go scope our an apartment to see if it was empty (I refused). He just moves anyone in and we've had several problem neighbors.

We moved here to save money to buy a home. We also wanted to take our time and but the right house. I hate moving. We've bought a lot and have been working on house plans but who knows when the house will be ready. Not for a long time.

Anyway, the husband doesn't want me pushing the landlord too far. He's worried that the landlord will get mad about the cats damaging the front blinds or the damaged carpet in my son's room. A kitty accidentally got locked in there and scratched at the carpet under the door damaging it. Not that the carpet was a prize. It was the nastiest carpet I'd ever seen when we moved in. I've cleaned it multiple times and there's still huge stains from the previous renters.

Nope. I'm a grumpy lady. My fibromyalgia makes me really hot so I'm extra yucky. I'm definitely not doing any cooking. Trying to open windows has my shoulder pain up, too.

We will be staying at a motel tonight. I've found one where the cats can come, too. The landlord is going to have to take less rent. The kids can't even sleep in this heat!

after Katrina, the heat was literally driving me crazy. I managed to get a FEW INCHES OF WATER IN THE TUB AND WOULD GO LAY IN THERE (sorry caps)

I live in south Mississippi and I don't do ANYTHING in the summer unless it involves a boat and water-lol

You sure have a lot going on AV. I am glad you were able to get us a post on how things are going. But I am sorry that you are going through so much. Keep the stress down, you know what it does to the fibromyalgia pain... I hope you get back into your house soon. I thought you owned your home for some reason. It stinks when you have to rent, but you know, we can't take any of it with us anyway, so I guess it really doesn't matter if you rent or own. Lot cheaper to rent at times. I really hope that they get this sorted out so you can be comfortable.
