Hello ...........
You certainly seem to have many things together for your age ... great start! I would like to add my own experiences - not much for medications but for a therapist.
I have used three different therapists in my life ... each at differnet times in my life and each for different reasons. All of them were Psychologists. My first one ... I was with for quite a long time. She was very good and helped me tremendously to get thru emotional difficulties that had been with me since I was a kid (some family created) - and helped me to open up and not feel afraid to communicate.
But ..... as I've heard from a couple of close friends, sometimes you have to try several therapists before you find one that you're comfortable with. Don't be be afraid, if the first one you try, doesn't seem like a fit for you.
My second psychologist (one for couples) was not a good fit ... and my current is specifically for health reasons and so far, I find him to be very good.
It may be a search ... hope that doesn't frustrate you if it is. I am on my first medication for depression, Lexapro - and it was recommended by the psychologist, prescribed by my primary and blessed by my oncologist.
Best of luck to you. Realizing and accepting the problem ... well that may be the most difficult part ... and you've accomplished that already.
