Just got a call from the public school substitute admin. They need a full-week sub for English in high school next week. Yeah!

It's amazing how things can go from frustrating to fantastic just like that.

One of the things that I was anxious about was getting positions. The fibro makes sleeping, and getting up hard as heck. I will sleep until 9 am, if my body is in charge. I am not a morning person, and subbing usually starts making calls at 5:30 am (??!!). I also usually get tense when events change quickly, though I am pretty good with going with the flow.

So this is ideal. I know in advance, can plan for it. Hopefully, if I make a good impression, more will come.

Thank you. I feel like being on my own with the kids has me more in touch with who I am. I'm naturally a caretaker so living with someone who refused to take care of them self had me stressed all the time. Now it's just me and my babies (fur babies included). I feel like the kids are getting a mom who is focused on their well being and health. We've been having a lot of fun. My soon to be ex has stayed in the kids lives. That's like having your cake and eating it, too. The kids get him and I don't get his moods! Lol

I just got my traditional halloween costume for the classroom (a black tail and ears, usually worn with a professional business suit), and my stickers from my teaching box in the attic. It is nice to be happy about something. I have some nice halloween and thanksgiving stickers.

I am, by nature, a glass half-full type.

And, yes, it's high school and stickers. But I used my stickers in the college classroom. Sophomores trading ghosts for witches is one of my favorite memories. And giving a sticker when a student passed the B mark on a quiz.

It's still half, babe, at the moment. Just got a call to sub for the two days before Thanksgiving, and hope to fill up my schedule. I would rather work than think too much.
