Sitting here crying, didint want to post this in chronic pain forum.

I weaned myself off Zoloft months ago then had terrible dv issues with the girlfriend I was living with in an apartment in my name, with a dog who was my therapy dog who was taken from me, my post in chronic pain forum explains it all. currently im staying at my grandmothers who tells me all the time she wants me out, that I don't do anything. mind you I am on fentanyl 100mcg and oxycodone for various disk problems.   I don't know what to do, the way I feel right now thank god I don't have my full fent script and only have one patch cause I would prob do something very stupid.  sorry for rambling I just don't know what do to.

I was on 200mg Zoloft and Xanax 1 mg tid not prn, I wish I could be back on my meds but I have no way to get to the other doctor nor do I have insurance atm, its hard enough to go to the pain dr

Hi, Luie. I deal with chronic pain, too. It's enough on its own to overwhelm you. These other problems are making you feel even worse. First, call the local hospitals and ask about places that work on a sliding scale. There are drs that will only charge a certain amount based on your finances. Second, are you disabled or can you work? If you are disabled you are elgible for Medicaid. If you aren't think about applying for disability.

If your grandmother is like mine then she was raised to work through pain. Not only that but unless you've experienced our pain types you can't know how debilitating it can be. She may hear back ache and assume its like ones she gets (with no disc problems). When you find a dr take her with you so she can hear about how your back pain affects your life.

For now, take care of you. Have you thought about counseling? That's been great for me. These therapist will also work on a sliding scale. It will get better.

Thanks for your reply , I deff need to try to somehow get down to dss and apply for foodstamps and Medicaid again, I m on comp and ssd but only get 1400 a month total and in Ny that's nothing barley enough to just cover rent.i wish I had some one I could talk to.

idk, everytime stuff is going good, something like this happens, I basically lost everything and feel like im at a dead end, I want more than anything to go to school, hell id even go to job corps but idk how comp and that would work, I really need to save up and move to Colorado

We are here for you Luie, to listen and support the best we can.

I have chronic pain. I find that meditation and mindfulness help ALOT in dealing with it on a daily basis. Reduces my stress which helps too.

For therapy have you checked the local clinics for help? Of if you go to church as the Pastor/Minister/Priest of councel?

If you need Medicaid, you can apply for in on line now. Especially since you are already in the system.

You can work and make so much money a month and it won't affect your SSD. I'm not sure of the amount, it use to be $500. If I were you I'd call the local social security office and ask them. I don't believe you have to give them your name to ask the question. I don't even know what kind of job you can do with your disability, but you might know. Maybe you can contact your local community college to see about on-line classes to get yourself started there. There might also be opportunities through your state for educational program financial assistance. I would definitely apply for SSI as $1400 might be low enough to qualify for it and for food stamps too.

I don't understand people in our lives, like your grandma. You don't qualify for SSD if you are considered able to do any kind of work. It is difficult to qualify. All the jokers in the media make it sound like everyone and their lazy brother is on SSD and things couldn't be further from the truth. I know many people that desperately need SSD and have to go to several hearings before they get approved. It's stressful, they loose their homes, move into their parents basements, etc. Make sure you clean up after yourself and stay out of her way so that she has nothing to complain about. Maybe she needs a bit more $$ or groceries to make her happy until you can make new arrangements.
