Hi All.
My house is due to be foreclosed on in court tomorrow. This has been a long time in coming. It is an extremely long story, but in short I will say I did everything I could do to avoid it including a modification and attempted short-sale. When it became abundantly clear that I had no choice but to leave 2 years ago, I did. It was a very, very difficult decision that literally almost broke me but it was the only way I could support my family.
Moving forward to now.... I cannot afford any attorney's so when the bank started the foreclosure process I did not know how to defend myself. In my mind I have lost the house and there was no going back. So, I did not enter a plea. I have been notified by the banks attorney that the "motion for strict foreclosure which is on the short calendar for tomorrow has been marked as ready."
My question: should I attend tomorrow's proceeding? I know they are taking the house...but are there any fines or expenses that could be levied against me in this process? Will my being there make any difference? I'm not being lazy..I just don't want want to lose a days pay from work if I don't need to.
I know you all are not attorney's but I didn't know if anyone else has been through this. I have been extremely anxious and I'm scared.
Cass
