Hi S2S,
Sometimes our medications may not be a good match for us and we may need something different. Have you talked to your doctor about
this? I really hope you feel better soon. Keep posting, it does help.
We just have to keep trying to feel better. It is work, but better than not trying. It is difficult, but worth it. Keep hanging in there. Take it one day at a time.
Hugs, Karen...

The amitriptyline can make you sleepy. A lot of people take it at night. With the days getting shorter (in US) that might have something to do with the way you are feeling. How long have you been on the meds? Is there something you started recently that could be causing you to feel this way? Medication wise?
Have you changed your sleeping routine, diet? Try a walk, it often gives me some energy and makes me feel better. I live in a cold climate though and we have snow, so I haven't been walking much lately.
There are so many things that can make you feel this way, including medications. I hope that you figure it out.
I really hope that you feel better soon.
Hugs, Karen...

Can you change to another birth control pill? I was lucky, never had a problem with them. I took them for many years until I got a tubaligation. I spelled that wrong. Yea, when something comes on sudden and you have just started a new medication, it is most likely the medication that is doing it. I would talk to your doc, (as you said you did) and change medications. I hope that you find one that works and doesn't cause you side effects, especially like depression. I am hoping that stopping the medication (also as you did) will help you to feel better soon. It may take a couple of days, but if it lingers, make sure that you tell your doctor.
I hope that you start feeling better soon. Remember you are always welcome to post here, it helps a lot of people just to have somebody listen.
Take care.

Thank you Karen. I know that so many people have it worse than me and I feel stupid for post stupid things like this but I feel so trapped by this. I alreadt have the depression and the cold weather makes it worse and now this. I am not sure what to do about
another pill but my doctor and I will come up with something.

There may be others that have it worse, but that doesn't mean you aren't struggling. It is hard with depression. But I think you will be feeling better soon and you and your doctor will find something to help you and get the birth control pill that works for you. I take vitamin D3 in the winter. IT helps with the lack of sun. I get outside as much as I can. Though often that isn't a lot.
Take care...

There are several different types of birth control pills, and most of them have a different make up than all the others. So you should be able to find one that works for you, if you keep trying.
Just figure out what the active ingredients are in the one that's causing you these symptoms, and stay away from those ingredients in the next one you try.
That should hopefully head off a repeat, but at the same time give you the birth control you want.
