Angelic_Victory,
If you don't already, check out Rotten Tomatoes' (Flickster is the mobile app equivelent) aggregate critics (and users) ratings for films - they are rarely ever far off the mark for knowing whether a film you may be interested in, will be a great watch or a bomb.
I'm not much for musical films, but the recent Les Misérables was very good - for my money, the first 40 minutes may have been the most emotionally powerful of the year and rank up there in the history of musical film (despite Russell Crow being flat as a pancake as a singer).
That last 3 Woody Allen romantic comedies have all been very watchable and enjoyable - Midnight in Paris, To Rome With Love and Blue Jasmine.
For action films, Now You See Me was a good heist caper, The East was a good political drama/thriller (Arbitrage was ok).
This is the End was a good Jonah Hill/James Franco budy comedy (though crude) if you like that fare.
Pacific Rim was a surprisingly watchable and good action flick from guillermo del toro.
The art linkletter rom com Before Midnight (3rd in the series with Julie Deply and Ethan Hawke) is highly rated at 98% and I intend eventually to watch all 3.
The Way Way Back with Steve Carell looks good.
And if you're looking for movies in theatres, the Hunger Games Catching Fire was good and Gravity certainly looks like it as well.
