   Especially on a very cold and very nasty January day.....

Thanks that the power is still on ... so our furnaces can blow that warm air thru our homes and apartments.

How can the homeless survive in weather like this?

Thanks that we don't have that worry!

Trina, Jasmine doesn't rush out to potty and get back in. In this cold weather, she decides to sniff around because somebody's cat keeps trying to get in out of the cold and she smells it. Then her legs start going in out from under her because of the cold and we have to help her in. You would think after a couple of times of that, she would hurry up and potty and come right back in. I don't think she understands the cold.

It was still -3 this morning at 10:00 when I went to get my hair done. I don't know what it is now, but the sun is shining. I guess tomorrow it is going to be near 30. Yay!!! But Boo!!! It is suppose to be a snow storm.

I got a perm today in my hair. Took four hours. I am so tired. I have to learn to have a little more patience. I go to a learning school and they are students. It is very trying. But well worth it, and a lot cheaper. That is my rant today...

It feels really good. And I think I like it, she made it a looser curl, but it looks really natural. My hair is getting long, it needed to be cut, but I was too tired. I will go back in a week. I always say that. Once I get my curls, I just go with the look. Problem is one side is longer than the other and I think that is from sleeping on one side all the time. Maybe it breaks off. I don't know, but I really should have them fix that and cut an inch off. Most of the students have been really good so far. I think that this one was really new. I always tip, because they work so hard. I made sure to do that. And she was pretty nice. Kind of quiet though. But after she gave me the perm, she decided she wanted one too. LOL... She did try hard.

I love curly hair, but my hair is so fine that it won't hold. :(. That's great about letting students do your hair. I need a haircut, too. I was trying to grow it out but it's been a year and it's not even shoulder length. Besides, my hair won't stay up or anything without tons of hairspray. I think I'm going to chop it all off again. My best friend wants me to shave my head! Lol

Short rant: ex husband is driving me crazy with pointless texts. I've asked him to quit bugging me but he doesn't seem to understand English! You'd think he would have something better to do then repeatedly texting me about what the kids got for Christmas, if they liked his presents (told him he could call and ask), and wanting to know if the kids like our new kitten. Annoying!

When I was in the hospital with MRSA, I had a student nurse. She was great, and I let her practice various things on me. But I am really used to being in teaching situations, so it didn't wear me out. It just feels normal to me. Experience and confidence rock!

Get the hair cut.

Thanks! It seems as if it will take more running around to get it all settled, but being without insurance was a huge financial drain, as well as an emotional one. I am a little worried about my fibro stuff, because so many doctors are leary about prescribing pain meds. But, luckily, all I really need soon is a refill on my muscle relaxer.

I just took a flexeril. I hate them, I use to take soma but I stopped. I just got so cold today that my shoulder muscles will not relax. I plan on doing meditation when things slow down this evening.

I love young people who try... They give it their all... Some need a little confidence but they do keep trying.

Rob That weather is too cold for this West coasrwr. I thing 45 is too cold. Yikes I couldnt live in the snow. Stay warm my dear.

Myself Congratulations on the new supplement to your income. I hope it all works for you hun.

Bnot I would be in and out too. So cold! Yikes! Poor animals. I hate to think of not just homeless people but animals also. Poor little popsicles.


Karen I almost got a perm once but I couldnt do it. Curls drive me nuts. Lol
So glad tou are liking it though. Good for you making sure those kids have the help they need too, I trust my hair and nails to very few people.

JB Good for you getting your workout on. I have spent so much time down that to walk more than 15 steps is a feat for me.

I went back to the Urgent care tonight and the doc said that I had an infection in the lungs and I got some meds for it. I knew that it was not just my asthma and this doc agreed without a word said from me. Yay! Still not fluid but she said that the infection was apparent. So now she said antibiotics, more nebulizer and the steroids. Lol I have smoked a little more today but bills are so hard to figure out when alls I wanna do is close up and sleep. I heard we hit 2 million. .. congrats to all!

I have to make arrangements for bills and all of that junk monday, blah but things will be better afterwards so yay for that.

I have decided that I will be using the patch to stop smoking and so I will see the doc Monday to get that going.

hey missJD. i too am going to have another crack at giving up the ciggies. a few months ago i went for four weeks, will try again. plus i will save an expletive amount of money that can be utilised elsewhere. i too will be using the patch, they are very good. all the best, keep strong.

I would save so much money if I were to quit the smoking, and my voice would probably improve, I have a unique voice, but very rough now. I don't know how to explain it, raspy I guess. I am sure it is from the cigarettes, maybe the three of us can start a not smoking progress thread... And work on it together. That might make it easier for all three of us and anybody who would like to join in...

That's great that you guys are giving up smoking! They have gotten really expensive so that will be money for other things. I have decided to give up caffeine. I really don't need it.

JB, that's awesome about the new job. Sounds like you have been doing pretty well finding work, I know its not permanent or stable but you seem to be able to find some good work.

Jamiee, reflux is so uncomfortable. I had to put wooden blocks under the head of my bed during my pregnancies. The dr said that helps with reflux. It did help some.

MissJD, I really hope the antibiotics kick that infection.

Hope everyone is nice and warm today. I did go to breakfast with the husband but my knee is really unstable so I won't be going anywhere else. Be safe everyone, its deceptively cold in some areas.

I'm glad it's the weekend. I slept in this morning.

Rob: My mother did bring up the topic. However, I chose not to discuss it with her. She was angry but I didn't answer her back. I just let it slide. I think it's for the bf and I to work out alone. He's very difficult but we have to work it out.

AV: Sorry about your knee. Please take care of it and yourself. I hope it will give you some relief soon.

JB: 40 mins on treadmill is not short. I find it's a good amount of time. I would be exhausted in less than that.

OH-OH .......

   Little freakin gremlins in my computer!

   I just lost a daily thread attempt because a commercial came onto my computer and cut me out of HW.

   I hate this high tech s**t!!!!

   I tried so hard late yesterday to get my computer to take something from youtube ... and send it out as a part of an e-mail.

   I found a cute 30-second video of a Samoyed (who looks a lot like Gizmo) who was talking. I really tried to e-mail that to my daughter and to Karen.

   It said it was e-mailed successfully ... then it took me thru all kinds of crap to install upgraded video stuff ... and this morning, it took 10-minutes to get on the computer.

   I have a computer repair person I've used a couple of times on my last computer and once on this one. I guess I need to call him.

   I may or may not be back on for the next week or so. I think I'll try going back to another prior date on the computer first - before adding expenses.

   Be warm ......... it's gonna be terrible here on Monday - down to -20 degrees temp and below -40 degrees wind chill.

Sounds like you might have a virus. Though when I use google, I get a lot of ads that I don't like, but i don't get them on firefox. I just changed to firefox (thanks to the help of Trina) because my IE wasn't working properly. I hate computers sometimes, but love them others...

AV... Go slow off the caffiene or else you will get headaches...

I hope everybody has a good day. I am getting company, that even makes me anxious sometimes. I don't know what is up with that, seems like I am going into hermit mode early this year. I seem to do it every winter.

Had dinner with family last night, nephew was in town. Good to see him. He has had troubles recently, but it was great to talk with him.

THANK GOD FOR SYSTEM RESTORE!!!!!!

   Yeah ..... got rid of all the commercials and that stupid Google homepage! System restore is working! It looks like all of the stuff that road in on the tails of Google yesterday were wiped too!!!!!

   It's been in the 25 degree to 30 degree range today with a little snow. I decided to go see Mom/Grandma at the Assisted Living home today - and bring Gizzy with.

   He hadn't been there since September ... and at least he got to spend a little time with three other dogs there. There was a 12-pound yapper/heal-nipper ... and a sweatheart of an old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - and then he met a Collie for the first time. Boy - did they get to be good friends!!!!!!

   So far ..... so good with the computer! Have my old Homepage back!

   Hope everyone has a good Saturday ..... should be two pretty good games on today!

Hi all-

Congrats to everyone trying to reduce or stop smoking. I used to smoke and I loved it. Doctor put me on Wellbutrin and they suddenly tasted horrible. I quit very easily thank goodness. Good luck to everyone!

Karen- I bet your hair is nice. I got mine cut today... It was way too long.

AV- take care of that knee!

Myself and Rob- enjoy your football today and tomorrow...our poor ole Houston Texans..need I say more?

UA- hope you were able to take that drive. Please know I think of you often....

Miss- I'm so glad you got antibiotics..you've been sick a while. Sending good thoughts your way.

Jaime- also thinking of you. I hope you were able to get some peaceful rest.

Today is an ok day. Soon to be x hasn't found a place to go yet so he's still here with me and the kids. This weekend, he's house sitting for a friend...kinda nice to have my place to myself.. Praying he finds some place soon. He says he will file for divorce in the next two weeks.

I'm having more good days than bad days so I'll take that. Each day is a new day. Today I cleaned a zillion leaves out of my pool. I have to learn how to take care of it with him leaving. But I know I can do it.

Going to turn in early tonight. Hurt my back cleaning the pool. Just took another pain pill...they make me sleepy. The good thing about the pool is I got quite a workout cleaning it!

I go back to work on Monday... It's been quite an adventurous holiday break.... But everything works out in the end.

I know I've said it before but thank you all so much for your support through this next phase of my life. I'm looking at it as opportunities to do and learn new things.

Kudos to you for being optimistic about things. You can do anything you put your mind to. And it something gets too hard, get t pool boy. Just kidding... I am really proud of you Michelle. You have been through a lot and you still have a good outlook. That makes all the difference in the world and your life in general. Keep up the good work.

I Hope that the soon to be x finds a place too so that you are able to start getting on with your life...

Well its me again. Thanks for all the comments on my name switch. My friends in theworld call me that due to my first and middle names, so why not all my friends call me that, right?

I feel so good today. I did 2 full loads of laundry. I moved and old tv and brought the new one in my room. I also made my bed. Yay!

I absolutely love rhe idea of the stop smoking thread. I will so totally join in on that one!

That will be awesome for everyone to share in, I cant share with my family and friends around here. I have tried to quit before and now all they tell me is

" well we have heard that before", or " no you wont, you always say that"....

Then I smoke because I am depressed but I know I will not get that here so I am going to post here only and pray and help my friends here as you all know what I am going through and are not rude like most people.

I drove to the next major town over today and it was fun and I missed that. I will have to do that again soon for sure.

Thank god I am healing quickly and I had a doc hear me!

Good night! I haven't been to bed yet. Too sore! I got guilted into going to my nephew's fifth birthday. Then for some reason all the adults but me disappeared outside for a 2 hour smoke break leaving me alone with 5 kids. I LOVE kids but I'm not in the best condition to handle 5 kids under 10. My nephew did a wrestling move on me while I was playing with his little brother. He just jumped full onto my back! So I'm on my heating pad with bad back spasms. I think I will be sitting the rest of the parties out!

We are supposed to get snow today. The kids are super excited. I love snow, even if I can't be in it much. So very pretty and very rare around here. I love taking the kids out to play in the snow. So fingers crossed that we get snow and not ice! Everyone be careful because the weather is soo cold! We have frostbite warnings so I know you people up north must be frozen!
