Jamie is in the hospital...

I haven't heard anything, I think I owe his girlfriend an email. The last I heard, he may be getting a double bypass next week. I imagine he will get our cards in a couple of weeks. Not actually sure how long it takes.

I got some news on Jamie, it isn't the best, but it is okay. He went into anaphalectic shock on the day of his surgery due to a reaction to one of the drugs. I guess his face swelled up like from bee stings. But he is rescheduled for surgery either Tuesday or Wednesday. And he is better now. I understand he is in good spirits and making the best out of everything.

He has gotten one card from the US so far. I don't know who it was from. He is so happy for that. I know he is going to be so pleased receiving the cards and letters.

He wants to be back home so he can get on his computer and go on HealingWell. He misses us. I hear that his neighbor Irene and his sister Meaghan have been visiting him too. So that is good.

I thought that you all would like to know how things are going. His girlfriend is talking to him as much as she can and relaying things to me. I am so happy that we have that contact. I know it is hard for her being so far away from him.

Thanks Karen. Glad to hear he is doing okay after that reaction. Miss Jamie too. I hope the surgery will go well next week.

Anymore news on Jamie???

 

I am hopeful that Jamie has had his surgery by this time.

I sent him a cpl of cards, the last one, just before I saw your post that surgery was postponed.

The writing in the card is rather small, so I typed up a short note for him & enclosed it (all caps & bold) so he could at least read that w/o too much trouble.

I wasn't sure if he had a magnifying glass w/ him. He can read the rest of the card when he gets home & feels up to it.

I hope they are able to address several of his health issues while he's in the hospital. It seems like they kept him waiting for way too long.

I know he will be hurting for awhile after the surgery, but I pray he will be in much better shape after his recovery.

Karen, I don't know if you know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway. You mentioned Jamie would be in the hospital for approximately 1 month. Is that just recovery, or is that rehab included? I wonder if this hospital has both aspects included? Just hope they do everything they can to get Jamie back on solid ground.

I typed up a letter for Jamiee and made it bold and enlarged it to 16-18 so he should be able to read it...It'll go out either today or tomorrow...

Karen, thank you so much for the update on Jamie. He is still in my prayers. Hopefully, they will do the surgery tonight and Jamie will be on the road to recovery by this time tomorrow.

So glad to hear his spirits are up and the cards and letters are coming in. The lady at the PO told me the first time to figure about 7 - 10 days, so he should be getting a LOT of mail about now. :))))

Good to know he has his 'home nursing staff' in place. Can't wait for him to be back home and doing great. I'm sure he can't wait either.

I will be keeping Jamie's drs and his gf in my prayers, too.
