Daily Check In Thread For All!!! #69

   It's a late one today - got up late and had to wait for the plow to finish the driveways - before going for a drive. Gizzy missed the one dog I did see - but he started howling as soon as I said "Oh-oh"!

   We had about 4" overnight with another 3" or so of snow due during the day. This sure is getting tiring.

   I wonder if this storm is going to hit New York by tomorrow ... for the SuperBowl? At least it's 28 degrees out - not very cold for this time of year here.

   I did get over to the post office yesterday for some bills to go out and to send out Jamie's card. The difference in costs for mailing must be due to the weight of the envelope. I enclosed a 3x5 of Gizmo - and it was still just one ounce total weight. The card was pretty small.

   JB1 ..... the vegetarian lasagna sounds good. While my daughter isn't a vegetarian, she does not eat any kind of meat except seafood .... so I understand it's tough trying to put together a dinner.

   MissJD ..... I thought you might get a "no way" out of this! Last Saturday, my daughter ran a 1/2 marathon (13-miles) along with 4000 other entrants in Chicago on the lakefront while the temperature was between 6 to 8-degrees out. She was heavily layered for running!!!!

   Karen ....... sometimes dogs are really funny. I never told you about one of Gizmo's little quirks. When he's finished with either his food or his water ..... he has to carry the empty stainless steel dish from the Kitchen back into the Living Room .... and parade around with dish in his mouth for at least minutes ...... like he's so proud of his dish and having finished whatever was in it!!!!

   Michele ...... what's wrong with the hospital wanting advanced payment? Hope your doctor can smooth some things out with the MRI!

   The Bates Motel .... not exactly sci-fi but it's coming back for it's second season in March.

   The Walking Dead .... it's coming back to resume the fourth season next Sunday - February 9th. The prison was destroyed - and everyone has scattered going in different directions.

   Supernatural .... continues with Dean and Sammy back together again seemingly.

   White Collar .... not exactly sci-fi but the last seasonal episode was last Thursday ... and slightly disappointing!

   Several new programs starting on CW soon!

   Helix ..... surprisingly good drama from the Sci-Fi channel. Episode #5 was last night and had some surprises. If you have comcast, all the episodes are still available on "On Demand". No name stars ... made in Canada ... a good tense drama about the fear of a man-made epidemic being made by unknown sources - and for unknown reasons. Well written with good acting!

   Superbowl ..... tomorrow - while not exactly sci-fi .... Payton Manning is doing some unhuman things with a football. Hopefully he can wipe that grin off the Seahawks head coach!!!!!

   The series "White Collar" had moments that were funny - but it was not a comedy. It was about an FBI office and some of the workers there + a former crook who the FBI used as kind of an in-house consultant. The former crook was really a con-man who at times used the FBI for his own interests. The second to last episode was really good - but the last one was a minor let-down.

   I think the "Bates Motel" just kept getting stronger with every episode after the first two or three. Both Norma and Norman were great in their parts ... and the step-brother really turned around his character relationships in that season with his brother and mother. And could never forget that spooky house from the movie Psycho!!!!

   Hope the snow stops up by you. It's really too much!
