Well, I got my letter telling me when unemployment is going to call. I also got a form to fill out and send in. It states to state the last incident that led up to being let go. That will be easy. What I am afraid of though is that I wont get to collect unemployment. In my unemployment book they sent me they listed reasons for disqualification and one was misconduct. They define it as a violation of a duty or obligation reasonably owed the employer as a condition of employment. There was that one incident the 1st of July which my supervisor told me about but I cant believe that I would do anything like that, let alone come up with the idea. She says she has proof but has never shown me. That day, I did the switchboard, so I had to change my hours from 7:30-2:45 to 8-3:15. Everything went fine and normal. The following Wed. after we returned to work my supervisor came up to me and aske me what time I left on Friday. I looked at her funny and said 3:15. Well she said 2 managers, and then later it was one individual said to her that the switchboard was shut down and lights off at 2:50 She said she looked at the computer on the key pad and showed me entering the office at 2:31 and then it was 2:41. Doing something like that would be against everything I believe in. I am an honest person. The only thing I could possibly come up with is that I looked at the clock, saw it was 2:45 and shut down without even thinking. Of course I have never been shown any proof. My friends told me they cannot imagine me doing such a thing. IF I did do it I had to have spaced out. I have ADHD. When I send the form back in I am going to enclose a copy pf the letter that this one t send to my co. HO. Anyway, would this incident fall under misconduct? I have been told my state is an at will state. I am so afraid of not being able to get unemployment. I have to be able to help pay for Cobra. Even if I could find a mental health place to get t on a sliding scale there are still my pdoc and my reg. dr. and dentist. I am looking at having gum grafting done in the near future. There is no way on the face of this earth I would change my pdoc. I just switched to her the first of July after being with the last one for about 4 years and never being comfortable with her. I really like the new one. She takes her time and asks questions and listens to you. She is going to change some of my meds as I am on too much but the other pdoc just talked with you about 10 min. checked her records and asked what meds I was still taking and then tell me to come back in 2-3 months. The one I have now told me at my last appt. a week ago she wanted me to come back in 10 days because I am so depressed over losing my job.
Anyway, I want to know if you think what I did would cause me not to be able to collect unemployment.
