Abilify question

Hi everyone, I'm new here so I apologize if I'm not asking in the right place. I've been diagnosed with major depression about 3 months ago. I currently take 120mg Cymbalta with 25mg Abilify. My question is- is it usual or common for Abilify to not really do anything? It's been about 2 months since I started the med with 2.5-5mg titration up to my current dose. I still feel so blah and most days barely functional. Thank you for your help. ~ Heather

Meds: 120mg Cymbalta, 25mg Abilify, 16mg Exalgo, 500mg Actos plus Metformin, 4mg Dilaudid for breakthrough pain, Voltaren gel, Lidocaine patches

Dx: Major Depression, 2 failed back surgeries

I have to agree after 8 weeks of being in your system, you ought to feel different. Abilify worked well but at that time it was costing me over $300 every ninety days. Abilify did an excellent job of keeping me level headed and slowed down my racing thought patterns.

When my doctor agreed to lower the dosage, I foolishly went cold-turkey and it was not pretty. It took almost two months for me to regain my regular sense of mental balance all over again.

Cymbalta did not help me; sleep patterns became out of wack and my eating habits suffered as well. Yes, I would most assuredly contact my doctor and tell them you need help.

I do wish you well, even during those dark periods NEVER ever give up.
