I've never thought of it because it's almost impossible

the title's all i have to say. i've really never thought of it because it feels like it's almost impossible. little did i know i was wrong. genes just goes around the family huh ..

around a couple hours (maybe around 1 1/2 or 2 hours) ago, my nephew cried like crazy. the door was shut yet we can hear him screaming as if he's right beside us. by us i mean me, my sis-law and my bro. both me and michelle are clearly worried and so michelle went into the room. i went into mine and did a little research. i was annoyed that my brother was acting as if there's no crying and screaming coming out of anywhere.

since i went into my room a little earlier and wasn't really paying attention around my surroundings, michelle went to check on the baby after a while. when i came back out, my bro and sis are fighting and so i just awkwardly went into the kitchen and get a glass of water. when i came out and went into my room, the fight grew. my mother called so it was paused and my mom was asking about my passport and all and so my bro answered everything. ok, maybe not exactly himself. he asked me about the questions on what my mom asked him and i didn't like his tone so i was wee bit bitter towards him. i said a wee bit bitter cuz the bitterness is barely there yet he was furious at me and talking about hitting me. what's wrong with my family and people hitting each other ?

he stormed off the room and my sis stayed at my room. that was when i learned that he is not what i thought he is.

he hates his son. he doesn't care about him. his wife is obviously stressed out. she talked to him for a million times but he NEVER wants to listen and will always ask 'why?'. he treats his son as if sebastian's some kind of an alien. when michelle was pregnant, she told my brother to buy food but he would always say "i'm lazy, you go down yourself and buy". the restaurant downstairs isn't exactly healthy so she refused. well you can guess, no food for the day. i was shocked when she actually told how he had always acted after she was pregnant.

she said he was always nice and clean when my mom's around but other than that, noooo... that's dreamland.

he HATES his son and doesn't care about him AT ALL!

he likes to play pool and snooker and it soon became an addiction when my sis' pregnant and so she told him not to go and just accompany her at home because no.1) people smoke there and it's not good for the baby and no.2) she was very tired. all he said was "you go home. it's not me anyway.."

i was dead shock. he is NOT my brother. my brother took good care of me, he should take Great care of his son!! This whole dang thing that happened isn't my brother. he will NEVER be my brother if it continues.

he'll be just some kind of a stranger who's only related to me by blood. only blood, nothing more. i will never let my nephew down. he's innocent, yet his father's like trash.

The title drew me in. Sorry, but I'm still wondering what it means? <_<

Anyway, I read your post and am not quite sure what to make of it. Your brother threatening to hit you is not acceptable, but I presume if he took good care of you in the past, this is a recent thing?

It also seems like you had no idea your brother hated his son until his sister-in-law told you. But can you really trust her word? I'm sure he's not the best dad in the world, but she may be exaggerating his flaws out of anger, spite, or whatever. Either way, this does not sound like a relationship made in heaven. Unfortunately it is probably not in your power to improve their relationship. Your brother needs to stop being a selfish ****** and his wife needs to stop nagging him to death.

If you were once close to your brother, then maybe you can try again. Talk to him when he is alone. Try to really listen and not just scold. He might open up, he might not.

If nothing comes of it, then you can at least be there for your nephew.

Karen: he's not stressed out. i know him since i was very young. trust me when i say he Hates kids. like a lot. he's nice to me at first because we're 10 years apart and finally having a baby sister is kinda awesome after 10 years but he still hates kids up til now. he's not working yet. i'm not sure on what he wants to work as. he graduated and got a bachelor in business and finance or accounting or something like that. no, he is not supporting the family. my parents are the one who's supporting them.

i love my nephew to bits! i'll always be there for him in every which way. he's a real sweetheart. what melts my heart is that when i tell him a story, he'll always smile around and laugh a lot. only me and michelle's sis can do that which is cool.

ohhh ho hooo... this is a VERY recent thing. it happened around few good hours ago.

i know that he's not really fond of sebastian because of the way he acts. it's so visible that everyone can tell.
i believe in michelle's words because she always speaks for the truth. and the fact that i've seen it with my own eyes is a real gooey good huge plus sign. he was just playing dota in his laptop ignoring the cries.
the same thing has been going on for awhile now and he always acts like there's nothing going on. trust me, he seriously doesn't really care for sebastian. my sis-law too just found out when she was pregnant, he had been treating her differently. meaner, ignorant and uncaring. he's very nice when there's my mom but since my mom's not here for about a week now (we're in another state), he's been different. and who on earth burps a baby with a phone in hand ? how are you gonna wipe away his puke ?!?

my bro won't ever listen. he's as stubborn and annoying as the maid. he forgot to give the maid food last night. i mean, who does that ?
*shrug*.. at least i have a caring baby with me.

It's sad that your brother doesn't love his son more: ignoring a crying baby is a cold thing to do. Was the pregnancy a surprise one? Because your brother does not seem ready to be a father in the slightest. I'm sorry, I wish I could think of something else to say! Is there any chance at all your brother could be depressed? It sounds like some of the signs are there, possibly. On the other hand he could just be a selfish a-hole... :/
