I'm grateful for this forum. It's wonderful to have a non judgmental place to chat, socialize and vent. I'm going through a rough patch myself after some med changes. Been on new dose 4 nights and hoping this works. The feelings of feeling abnormal and strange are nasty and if I could speed up the process by eating a live cockroach, I would not hesitate smilewinkgrin

Lisa, the hardest part is waitig to see if the medicine is going to work. I hoe this one works for you and that you start feeling it working soon.

Jamie, I hope you got some sleep. I know you said you were going to ask the dr about different possibilities that may help. I hope they can help you.

MissJD, I am completely jealous that it already swimming weather there! as soon as it starts warming up here the kids want to go swimming. Its not easy explaining to them that just because its warm doesn't man its warm enough for swimming.

I am so ready to get this dilation done. I am already sick of the liquid diet. I miss real food! The dr said they'd call me of there are any cancellations.

Good morning ... it's 3pm!!!!!

   I hope everyone is OK. This morning at 9am, it was 57-degrees. and at noon, it was 62-degrees. COOOOOL!!!

   Gizzy had a good ride this morning, but only saw one german shepard doin it's morning poo!!!!

   BUT, yesterday - Giz and I went out to sit outside, like an ol man an his dog! Shure enuff .... here comes that lil tail-waggin girl! So Gizmo and his GF had a supervised play session. It was a good afternoon.

   Also, yesterday before the excercise class, there was a speaker - a pulmonary nurse who talked about "laughing"!!!!! She talked about the benefits of laughing - mental and physical. Interesting stuff!

   I'm thinking about how it could be incorporated into the "daily check in". The fun seminar relates to depression every bit as much as it does to pulmonary disease.

   Last night, i went to an old favorite burger place to meet a few people. The food was good. The company did vary. It was actually fun just watching one of the women trying to get as much "man info" as she could. And while she was the first to leave after dinner, she somehow left her cell phone at the restaurant.

   Come on ... can'tcha do better'n that? Oh yeah .... she was really interested in how successful some of the women there have been using any of the internet dating services. Then she asked meif i was retired. She asked me that twice in about 15-minutes! Funny!!!!!!!

   This mornings support group was just three of us and the facilitator. We're really not supposed to discuss things that have been said - but it was a mostly positive session. Some of my concerns (about myself) of two weeks ago are not concerns anymore.

   My CPA has not called me back yet - so it's looking like there's an extension for 2013 taxes coming. My daughter is supposed to call me tonight to say good-bye! She leaves for Austin Saturday morning and picks up the moving truck tomorrow morning - packing/loading during the day! What fun?????

   Hey folks ...... would highly recommend getting out to do something very soon. Doesn't have to be expensive or energy draining .... just do something! It's Spring!!!!!!

I imagine your daughter leaving Rob is rather bittersweet??? I know you are happy for her but I know you are sad she is leaving. Just know you can share that here if you need to. I bet you are really proud of her. I sure would be...

It is cloudy here today and it rained a little bit. The sun is trying so hard to come out. I notice on the warmer days, I don't see the birds and squirrels as much. I guess they are making nests and such.

We saw a BUNNY this morning!!!

Sorry for the excess enthusiasm. We had out last B sighting right before Christmas. We had begun to think they had moved out the neighborhood. But Mr. B was lazing along the back fence this am.

Pretty good day--warm, new school, went to the gym, invited to a school district open house. BF making dinner.

BF has become increasingly worried about my sleep. Apparently, about three weeks ago, I started tossing, kicking, moaning in my sleep. I don't remember, due to the drugs. Sunday night was a poor sleeping night, but I have felt fine otherwise.

Trying to stay focused.

It's WARM here today in Ft Wayne, IN- I love it!! My morning started out feeling the icky gloom & anxiety (I'm adjusting to meds, started extra 30mg of Cymbalta 4 nights ago). Fingers crossed it's what I need! Day has improved. Saw therapist then spent lunchtime with my BFF and we had a good therapy session ourself then took a walk. I also walked this morning and just a bit ago w/hubby & our dogs.

Therapist said it's less energy to think and speak positively than it is with all the "awful-lizing" and doubt I've had lately (even though I know better-thanks depression- NOT)! nono

So I've walked and "smelled the roses" today and said thanks for everything. Told myself and will continue to tell myself "I am getting better and I have faith." I do believe that and I know it to be true for all of us. If only it was a bit easier to have grace in the face of adversity- that's my goal!!! Anything good IS possible!

Lisa, I've always enjoyed therapist because they can help you break those cycles that keep you down. Going out with your friend was great. As much as we may not want to go it can help.

Myself, I'm not a bunny fan. When my sister and I were kids my parents got my sister 2 rabbits ( Sonny and Cher). They were adorable. They began chewing everything up. Wires, toys, wood , basically anything they could their teeth on. Not my favorite pets. Lol

I'm glad most of you are thawing out now. For us in the south it is now tornado season. We've had a few storms but nothing that produced a tornado, yet.

Rob, this has to be tough for her to move away. As a parent you want them to be independent and follow their hopes and dreams. I guess the pain of letting them go means you've been a good parent.

UA, it feels like it looks. It's very swollen. There's the incision pain and the nerve pain stacked on each other. It drives me crazy how difficult it is to get a bandage over the right spot because it's partway down the elbow. This medical tape can't hold anything in place. Plus, try bandaging the outside of your dominate hand using your other hand. It's annoying! Lol

UA- so glad to see you!! Yes, tomorrow is Friday....is it here yet? I need it!!

Well, I had counseling today. We talked about the slump I'm in and agree that a med change isn't needed- this is situational. He reminded me, as you all do, that the last 4 months have had some incredible life changing moments. He gave me a strategy to help me with my negative self thoughts.

The biggest thing that as happened in the last week is not usual sleep- less than usual. I need a good 9 hours a night- last night was 4. He called me delirious!! Uh, yeah, I already knew that. So I'm putting everything and everyone on the back burner and going to do nothing but rest this weekend till I'm fresh again.

Well, gotta finish dinner! My love to all!

I do remember when I thought spring would never get here, it may have just been the other day... lol...

But it was beautiful most of the day today. We had a little rain this afternoon, but it melted some snow, so that was good. Thank you Michele for asking...

I hope that everybody is have a good day, I am just a little distracted tonight, so this will be short...

Michele: Friday's finally here. I've got no plans but really looking forward to sleeping late. Glad you had a good therapy session. I hope your new strategy will help you, and you will also be able to get some rest this weekend.

Hello to everyone...

My bf had his doc app on Wed. They took out the stitches and said that the surgery was successful. I was happy to hear that. They also told him about the complications. He was explaining it to me but I still don't understand for some reason. Despite the complications, he should be able to have kids still. They did not give a straight yes answer so I'm a bit worried about that.

Good morning .....

   A little chillier this morning at 47-degrees - but it is sunny and no high winds - still Spring-like!

   Even before the ride this morning, there was someone riding their bike slowly down the bicycle path - along with a feisty chihuahua!!! Being in his property protecting mode, Gizmo got up on his hind legs and started barking like a crazy dog! That lil thang invaded his space!!!!!@!!!!!

   On the ride, we saw just one dog - then while going into the drive, there was a male Mallard about 20-feet from the front door. I let Gizzy out, and that Mallard didn't move! Gutsy little bird - less than 30-feet away!!!

   UA ..... thanks - and best wishes to your BF .... had some scares myself in the past, and it ain't no fun.

   Karen ..... we've had some very nice weather here the last week or so. The packed snow from plowing is all gone ... yay!!! And soon, they will be collecting the orange sticks that are used to mark driveway locations - since so many of them are curvy!

   Michele ..... thanks for the offer a second time (and the first time too)! She is pretty independant. When I do suggest something to her, i mention it only once (had a nagging mother myself). I expressed my disappointment to her (was teasing of course) when she said - she's going to have get off of her "no red-meat" diet - so she can try the Franklin BBQ!!!

   AV ..... you would be one of the last persons to need to be reminded but - savor those young years of your kids. I have a picture, in my hallway, of my youngest daughter at 2 - trying to get on our 65-pound poodle (at the time) - like he was a horse. Every time i stop to look at it, i get happy thoughts and start to cry ...... go figure!

   Lisa ..... those therapists are pretty smart - aren't they?

   Myself ..... we used to have rabbits pretty often in and around the vegetation. A couple of years ago they came close to disappearing. The theory (and probably true) was - that is when the coyotes moved into the area!

   Anybody goin to a TGIF????

   Note: got a brief and bad e-mail yesterday ... did a return asking a few questions ... and got a reply this morning. My cousin (we stood up at each others weddings eons ago) seems to be fading very fast from cancer that was first diagnosed on 2/1/2014!

   He had two infusion treatments at the University of Chicago - then put in the hospital for 7-days - then sent home! His wife has no hope at the moment. Dave (my cousin) has a sister who called me about a month ago to let me know of the diagnosis. Everything is happening so fast - but Dave's sister told me he is OK with moving on .... while Daves wife is really pissed ... angry with life!!!

   Sometimes ..... things suck!@!!!

I'm so sorry Rob!! My thoughts are with your family. Think his wife being angry with the world is a pretty normal response. My grandmother went to a grief group for a while when my grandfather was at the end of his struggle with cancer. Hospice can help find her assistance and a part of hospices goal is to support not only the ill person but the family, as well.

Kids grow so fast. I try to be very involved with their lives. I know the ultimate goal in raising kids is to help the become independent and good, productive members of society. At this moment, I can't imagine a day where they don't like in the same town as me. I will be a weepy mess. Lol

The new pain medication isn't giving the side effects that the other did but it doesn't work as well. The pain is better today. The dr told me to not be over using it. The incision looks better (couldn't look much worse. Lol). It's less red and some of the bruises are fading. The stitched area still looks pretty bad. The itching is driving me nuts.

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's in the 60's today. Bernie wants out. He's sitting in the living room window meowing at the neighbors cat. I had to get a new bathroom trash can with a lid. Mojo has been getting stuff out of that garbage can and eating it. He likes qtips, especially.

Yay!!! Got the laundry done, so now I am good for awhile. Jasmine peed on the bed last night, at least is was the night before laundry, but it is a bummer. She doesn't even know she is doing it when it happens. I hope she isn't getting another urinary infection. But it has to be something causing it.

Rob, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. That is so sad. We never know what life is going to throw at us. I wish that there was something I could say to make it go away, but I guess there is not. Just know we are all here for you.

AV, I hope you are having a good day. Yes, cherish the memories that you and the kids are creating at this time. This is so important, time goes by way too fast.

JB, I was in a funk today too. I did get some lunch when I was out and that helped me feel a little better. But something is still a little off today for some reason, maybe it is the weather, or maybe it is just me. I may take a nap but if I can, I want to take a walk.

I hope you all have a good day. Mine wasn't bad, just off a little.

AV and JB1 ..........

   Thanks to both of you. Lupus and dying at the age of 24 .... horrible!

   I have an old friend - actually saw her two nights ago with a group of people. I remember, about 15-years ago, she lost her 24-year old son, Ronnie - to a drug overdose. Another lady and myself stayed with her nearly overnight (the other lady did stay overnight) the day of her sons burial.

   It is true, I believe, what is said that ... a parent losing a child is the worst kind of loss! This old friend is an emotional person to begin with - but even now, 15-years later, she'll start talking about Ronnie ... then the tears flow!

   My cousins wife being angry is as normal as can be. They have 4-kids and at least 7-grandkids. And their family was pretty close.

   My cousin Dave (and his sister too) were my red-neck cuzzins! They were from far southern Illinois - near Kentucky, and I still remember spending one whole Summer with them on their parents farm .... the only time i ever road a horse!

   My Aunt used to get up before 5am so that by 6:30am the huge breakfast was ready .... eggs, pancakes, biskits/gravy, pork sausage, bacon and coffee, milk and OJ! It was worth gaining 4-pounds a week staying there!!!!

   He was strong as a horse - even the last time i talked to him after Christmas when my Mother passed in January. Dave's wife said there were two golf-ball-sized tumors found in February - originating from melanoma that had metastisized! Awfully quick downturn!

   When his sister called me a month ago, she was pretty OK with the diagnosis ... and she was close to Dave - always the kind of relationship i would have liked to have had (brother-sister). It's a scary thought when you're the oldest remaining person alive from a family. Dave is - and i think I'm next in line!

   I can easily wait!!!!!

   Thanks again ladies.

   Hope your pain eases .... do something nice this week-end too!

I hate cancer. Still grieving for my sister's death (host versus graft disease after a bone marrow transplant due to leukemia) and my then 84 YO mother having a breast removed two weeks later.

I am with yaw'l that feel a slump. Spring is/has always been hard for me. I know the end of school comes soon, and I get bored without a schedule.

We hit 80 today in MD. Usual day at work, then picked up meds.

What about working a part time job that is something different this summer to give you a schedule? I am seriously thinking about going back to work for a couple of months this summer. I had fun when I worked before. I can't work a lot, but part time isn't bad.

Just something kind of funny. We have have a big cat tree in our living room. Mojo loves to be at the very top of it. That is his spot. I was sitting around with my ice pack on my elbow ( still swollen). I heard this really loud crash and that was followed by the bell on Mojo's collar pealing. When I got in the living room the top part of the tree, Mojo's favorite, had toppled over and into the floor, just the top platform. I went looking for Mojo. He was hiding under the couch making the most pitiful noise and making such a sad face. It was a little funny. Lol

I guess I need to find one that is reinforced and can handle 16 lbs of cat. Hunter and Bernie get on the other areas some. Bernie doesn't like to be high off the floor, though.

See this is why I do not like Kindles. Every time I go to read or load another book. The darn battery is dead! Arrrgh! Books never go dead! Just saying.....

My nook's battery lasts quite a while. I read daily and the kids play games on it. Right now it's been 2 weeks since I charged and it's 40%.
