Of course ... carbs are satisfying!
Way back in the 80's, i was on the (Stillman-?) Diet - low carbs with lots of water. It worked ... lost more weight than i care to admit ... then, coincidentally, earned a fistula that prompted a quick doctors visit, impromptu nasty anal exam - and then directly to emergency surgery with a local in the spine.
All of that for a 10-month diet. No - it was supposed to be how i will now be eating. Didn't work so well for me!
I must say, i will never forget the surgery. It was in Florida, and the operating room had music from "Miami Vice" going while i was on my back in stirrups and two people were getting awfully personal in front of me.
All i could think of was ... "man - this was good s**t" - whatever they put in that spinal!!! And i was a big Sonny Crockett fan!
Ever since then, I'm really carefull about the foods i eat most of the time. I should be having less potassium and phosphorus for my kidney disease. Less phosphorus not too hard. Less potassium is booger!!!
Myself, your game-plan is much different so you hae to do what you gotta do! Have you ever tried the natural fruit bars?
I have some lime bars in the freezer - had one last night - pretty darn good! It does have some sugar but low in calories (70), no fat, no sodium but some carbs with the sugar content. It was very tart sweet if you like that sort of thing - so shouldn't be too heavy in sugar.
Good luck on some creative food findings for your diet!
