Hi I'm chastity I have had manic & major depression disorder for 9 years now this is my first time taking a antidepressant its my 3rd day on effexor . I have 3 kids to get better for I'm only 24 yrs old what should I expect while taking this I already have jitters sweating and anxious also I over think everything I have lots of thought from depression when will this go away ? Thanks God bless

Try to relax. I doubt that the sweating and jitters is an effect of the effexor. It is probably anxiety, and the effexor will help that. Are you taking pills or capsules? If you are taking pills, try to take them at the same time everyday. If you miss a dose it can get rocky. If you are taking capsules, still try to keep that dose, but the capsule stays in your system longer, so if you miss one, just take it when you remember. I took effexor for 15 years and it worked well for me.

Along with the medicine, CBT is a helpful coping skill. Allows you to stop the negative thought patterns and mindfulness allows you to stay in the moment.
