Update on starting lexapro

Just an update on starting week two of lexapro

I was 6 days on lexapro .5mg- and I was nauseous, dizzy and had chest pain and heightened anxiety. I took Xanax .5 at least 3 times a day with the lexapro..to help with the side effects ... Around the 4th day I noticed I started feeling less anxious and would forget to take the Xanax. I started 10 mg Sunday night and beside a little bit of nauseous and some joint pain i feel good! I'm sleeping better and he big thing is my chest pain is pretty much gone. I have not thought about having a heart attack at all and I'm not scared.

I just want everyone to know that I fought my psychiatrist about medication and told her I didn't want it until finally my 3 year old daughter asked me why I was sad all the time - I was not being the mother I could be for them. And I knew I had to do something. I have tried all things natural - I don't drink any caffeine and have not in over 9 months or eat chocolate or sweets - I don't eat dairy gluten or egg- I try to eat as natural as possible- i have lost 70 lbs in 9 months - so I tried everything but it wasn't working.

Now my children and my husband are so happy that in returning to my old self.

I just want everyone to know that I felt like crap the first week and wanted to get off the pills but I pushed on reminding myself I have to try and give the medicine time to work- nothing is going to work
Overnight. Give medication a chance if your struggling wih depression and anxiety sometimes we just need a little help to get out of that dark place our brain has put us in. Good luck to you all and god bless
