it is monday morning, as posted it is frosty. the mist, wow, thick. i am going back to lay down. nearly 7.30 am. just had 4 raw mushrooms, interesting feed, well not for a happy turtle!!!

idea i'm over tired. hi trina, karen, jb, rob, computer cool-karen. buildings cool rob & jb, cool trina catching thread and 3 coffees

ah i'm wrecked. did i miss anyone. morning to everyone else when you wake up!!!! not before hand!!! lol

Howdy all & HAPPY trails...to all u walkers, riders, Joggers...looky-loos, all the new friends here who I have become to admire. Gentle supportive and lovely spirits! And,"Happy Mothers Day", to all the mothers! It's a really nice day, even the sun finally broke thru the clouds.

Story to share....I had the funniest thing happen ..Mother's Day gift mix up! As it seems shipping got addresses reversed and gifts...good ole FEDX...

The address on the box was clearly mine so yesterday I opened a lovely gift. First box inside the larger box was Oo-oh yum a 6 count box of chocolates. Had to check out these babies! Eating one ASAP OF COURSE CHOCOLATE CURES EVERYTHING . I immediately moved on to the next box.opening another box inside the box and another then the last...every gift was so sweet & thoughtful...yet no purchase order with a card to know which son had sent it.

There are five, so I began sorting out the gifts from who I had recd & decided who it was from... Called to say the appropriate thank Yoos, as I do every year. Thru the description of the gift box contents it turned out it wasn't what my son sent ... He was disappointed I didn't receive what he chose.... He asked if I found the purchase order ?
It was no where to be found amongst the rubble laying on the floor.

So today I was breaking down all the cardboard from the shipping boxes for the recycle bin and in the very bottom under the bottom support foam was the order receipt. Hidden... Oops ! It was not addressed to me. As it turns out I found the missing piece of the puzzle. By now it's almost like a detective my thoughts shooting around. I now had the shipping address and phone number and the senders name... No one I knew. Yet in the same state, just different ends.

So thinking that I would do the right thing... Yeah.. (mostly curious to see if the address in my gift was switched with the name on the gift recd.)...I called the phone# on the receipt.

Well we chatted...laughed about the mix up and decided to just keep the gifts we recd in the mix up .... Phew cause I already ate the chocolate truffles & strawberries... Shared with family..Aa-ah Y Yeap! I sure did! Well sort of... Shared the yucky ones.. Well OK ...ITS MOMS day... So what? I can be selfish just this once! After all I am the chocolate connisuer....

I think I got the better end of the gift mixup. Cuz the gift that I was supposed to get was a picnic basket full of fruit.( we had already recd fruit. I mean how much fruit can one eat?)..usually on picnics the horses eat all the fruit out of the saddle bags before we get to our fav spot. They are the munchers of the family...always gotta be chewin...

I decided the mix up was meant to be...cuz, "No chocolate in fruit baskets"!....said the chocoholic...this was gourmet chocolate too!

Well everybody has a story & we all put our best foot foreword. RIGHT ? Mine was for a box of chocolates & flowers with a beautiful vase. I won the best prize of all. All my kids thought of me..
"Life is a GIFT"!

So who else has a story to share???

It does sound like the mix up was meant to be! Chocolate fairies were watching out for you.

Karen, I'm glad you got a new computer. It will be great to see you around more.

JB, I'm a little jealous. I wish we had such interesting places to visit. I've taken the kids to the local university's museum a few times but it's nowhere near the scale you have available.

Rob, I'm sorry you are feeling down. That's awesome about the weight loss! Keep up the great work.

MissJD, and Jamie, I hope you both are feeling better soon!

Michele, I've been thinking about your situation. I think with the divorce you are still on a fragile place. I don't want to see you get hurt by your mom. I think I'd let silence send the message. Seeing her out somewhere doesn't mean you have to acknowledge her.

I had a fall today at Walmart. I can't ever seem to fall gracefully. I topple over and land on whatever will be the most painful. I mentioned to break my toe and have so many bruises. The kids made me cards and we watched cartoons before going out and playing in the yard. They are getting excited for their birthday party. My dad texted to tell me happy Mother's Day and so did my aunt. Now I'm reclining with my foot up and my Mojo in my lap. It was mostly a good day. Lol. My son even fell asleep sitting with me. We were reading his new book and he just snoozed off. It was nice to hold my great, big boy again.

Yikes JB1 ... Not again... We have many Plumber horror stories that financially went into the thousands. It was crazy.. Funny and made me realize that consumers no matter how much we ck the backgrounds or get perfect referrals $&#% HAPPENS.. JUST BE GLAD u don't have a well & a sump pump and one giant holding take that occasional floods the pastures... Due to moles who dig

Sorry that this had to ruin UR day. Aggravation to the MAX TO SAY THE LEAST. And I am behind u 100% to report them! To many don't, leaving them to play the clients over & over.

HOPE UR mom had a good time too. It's a moms job to comfort our kids .. How lucky u r to still have her... I miss mine soo...

Yikes not much to be done for a broken toe, which one? I broke a big toe or should I saw a 1500# furry critter stepped on it...That is so ...... ....... Painful. A trip to the ER? So sorry to hear of UR fall

It's the big toe on my right foot. It's all taped up now after a 3 hour wait at the er earlier. It's always so embarrassing to fall in public. I'm just a mess!

Chotti- So funny how a wrong number or letter can bring such wonderful gifts.

Karen- I am so glad that you got your new computer. yay

A/V- My gosh lady you need to behave to your poor body, lol. I am sorry that you are having a rough time of things right now.

Rob- How are you my dear friend? I hope that all is well for you. Hows the "turd"? lol

Things have been utterly misreable are of late. My life seems to get better and then start to fall apart again. Sigh.

Last week was painful for me as my tooth was infected bad, I had to go from Hump day to Friday with a swollen face( I looked like a chipmunk with and over stuffed cheek) until the doctor could remove 3 teeth including the suspect. Then I was very sore and tired for the rest of the week. I missed 2 days of school which is like two weeks in a JC. I went from A student to F student in a matter of 24 hours. "cry" I loaded my van with a few items my mother needed and we ended up staying over night, where I had to take my son to the ER due to tooth pain!!!!! He has an abscessed tooth, same tooth just left side instead of right side. OMG!!!! Well since it was 1AM California time by then, we could not put his RX in until this morning and then they tell me that his health insurance is not working!!!! OMG again!!!! I can not deal with this, so of course I break down and cry and we get his medical all straight and his RX. The poor kid is sleeping on ice packs, taking an antibioctic and living for oragel and ibuprophen. This is the same thing I did last week.

I am so tired and sore and my poor baby is in so much pain I can not even sleep. I just want to curl up and sleep and leave the world to fin for itself. I will be postponing school for a bit, I do not want to do this but with all of the stuff going on with myself and my son I need to do this. I do not want to move back with my parents but I may have to do this also. I am so tired so I will complain more another time.

I am so happy to see you all posting such awesome stuff. I am a little overwhelmed to reply to all. I have a lot of catching up to do. Keep on keeping on guys... You all are fantastic!!!

I think we are going to get thunderstorms today. We can always use the rain.

The sky looks weird right now. /But there is probably a storm moving in. Good thing they don't get too bad here. I got medicine for Jasmine if she gets scared.

Those needing good news. I passed my first test (the Praxis II) well above the score needed.

I have two more tests scheduled within the next three weeks-English and Theatre. I need to try to find my GRE scores in the attic, in the filing cabinet, in the heat.

After that I ought to be able to send off my packet for certification, AND put the relevant information in my online application.

I am at a middle school today. Stomach rebelling against something or other this morning. Was driving out into the boonies, and felt things deteriorating quickly.

Happy Post-Mom's Day. AV-feel better. No more falling (tho I know what you mean) Miss JD-Keep trucking with school, we believe in you. Michelle-Meetings! In education? Say not so! JB-keep the faith, and believe in yourself. You will find a job.

Good morning .....

   Myself ... congrats!!! Now - the tough one comes - on theatre! (yuk-yuk)! And I'm not really a 3-Stooges fan!

   Michele ... got a call from my daughter last night. They have discovered "texas tea" - and now they're trying to make it at home. And ... while unpacking a box at work, my daughter found her first scorpion!!! No boots yet though!!!

   Karen ... hey - the computer came! Did ya get an HP, Dell or ???! Bet you're a happy camper now!

   MissJD ... hope you had a little fun for Mothers Day. Gizmo is becoming a magician. He found a way of making 3-1/2-feet of his nylon dog leash disappear! And yes .... am checking his poo!

   JB1 ... I am familiar with that wonderful building in NY. Nothing like it in Chicago!!! Matter of fact, I first saw the Guggenheim in, of all things, a movie by the name of "Someone to Watch Over You".

   It was a fair (at least) movie, 1940's in feeling (except the language) with Tom Berringer, Lorraine Bracco and Mimi Rogers. The song is terrific, the movie is often appropriate to the song - and Mimi Rogers (when this came out) could absolutely do no wrong in my opinion! Yeah - I had a crush!

   The Unity Temple (in Oak Park) can't compare to your museum. But, Wright had the cutest little performance theatre built into his Home/Studio that is never talked about. Very cool little piece of interior period design! 

   AV .... hope you had a nice Mothers day - even if a little painful. Young lady .... you really know how to have a good time - ER for 3-hours!!!!

   Chotti .... now I'll be looking daily to see if there's an unknown package from Fed-x at my door! Especially next month on Fathers Day!

Notes:

   I decided to celebrate Mothers Day - by going out for lunch alone! Exciting huh? I did try an omlet I've never seen before - spinach, bacon and cream cheese! If the cream cheese had been more evenly spread, it would have been outstanding. To counteract all those calories - i had just fruit for dinner - and some herbal tea!

   It's a muggy morning here - rain overnight and in the low 70's at 9am. Gizmo has been good - except for destroying one short lead last week. I have a blood test in a little over an hour and an excercise session at noon. Lot's of bills to go out this afternoon.

I know, dogs, Jasmine ate a piece of glass when she was a puppy. It didn't seem to give her problems, but scared me to death. I guess it went through... Never did find out.

I love the new computer, but it is windows 8 and totally different. I am learning...

Hi all!

thanks again for being my support system this past week or so. it really made a huge impact. i'm doing ok now, got a ways to go, but i'm getting there. pretty sure i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. thought it had gone out.

hoping everyone is doing alright. i think i want to invest in a simple joke book, b/c i often wish i had a good joke to tell to make someone smile.

Just a quick one .........

   Got back from the doc .... and I'm gettin older while the nurses are gettin younger! This ain't fair!!!!!

   A new nurse - but the needle in the chest still is not so nice! My CBC looks real good .... but gotta wait til tomorrow for the real news of the PSA an what's next.

   I have to say the call last night from my daughter was really nice. We are communicating - at all levels. It was my first Mothers day alone - did not bother me much, but the call from Texas was a comfort.

UA 8 is totally different but I think I got 8.1 and you can go back to the original task page that 7 had. I like that part. I am taking awhile to get use to it though. /As long as I can get here, I am happy.

Rob, that is good news. I am glad you and your daughter are conversing. That is awesome.

Waiting to see if it is going to rain. If not, I am going to the woods.
