Good morning ......
It's a little chilly here this morning - rained most of the night - but it's sunny now! Today's high should be in the low 70's with some possible rain.
MissJD ..... did someone get out of the wrong side of the bed last night? Try a long nap .... then check out "Ash Blonde" to see what you think about it! It's not real yellowish!!!
AV ...... good for the older kids. How in the world did you do 5-kids at Walmart??? Hope it's nice enough to be able to get outside today!
UA ...... it isn't all fun times with Gizmo. Over a week ago, while on the phone, I see him come into the living Room carrying something - and it took me a while to realize it was a piece of poo!!! He was carrying it - either for me to get rid of - or he was proud of that poo(?)!!!!
Karen ..... you might want to re-think about "being alone"! While there are some positives about it, emotionally - it's like hypothetically dialing 911 - and no one ever answering the phone!!!
That movie was "Runaway Jury" and I believe it was based on a book by John Grisham. Gene Hackman played a very low-down piece of dirt - and he played it well! John Cusack was OK. And Dustin Hoffman was weak - but his written part was weak also.
JB1 ..... I happen to like thin-crust pizza and there are loads of places with very good thin-crust. For the pan pizza, Uno's was one of the first of the well-known Chicago pizza places. And your friends couldn't go wrong with one of the Lou Malnotti restaurants for deep dish either!
In the Chicago area, everything is spread out so much - that often people will go downtown if they live within 10 to 20-miles of downtown. If they live farther than that, there are so many other places to go.
There is (just an example) a large suburb called Arlington Heights
that has many of the same features and entertainment of downtown Chicago - but it's much smaller, more intimate and more friendly for walking around.
One of my favorite restaurants, a Spanish Tappas, is within a short walking distance of a pretty good playhouse that's very active. And within two blocks of that are two different parking garages that are free! And the area has half a dozen semi-yuppy joints - some with live music, and everything is within about 5-blocks of each other.
about 18-months ago, I took my daughter and her BF (for Christmas) to see a musical version of "A Christmas Carol" - then across the street for a drink at Peggy Kinanes (a local in-joint) - and then over to the Tappas restaurant for a 2-1/2hour feast and some home-made sangria.
The parking for 6-hours was free and two blocks from the theatre. It was a fantastic time ...... why go downtown, fight traffic and spend $30. to park for 6-hours and over twice the price for the theatre? Then walk 15-blocks for the three things or take a cab!!~!!!
Yep - lots to do or see in Chicago - most of it is expensive!
Michele ...... hope the pain pills start kicking in soon - and you get lots of rest. Seeing all those former students of yours now graduating must have been an emotional and gratifying experience.
Both of my girls graduated from the same high school I went to in the last century! But what really got to me was my little one graduating from Bradley University - when I went there for just one year - eons ago! Uuuuu - did that hit me!!!!
Have a good day!
Notes:
I laid around like a lump of coal last night - getting nothing done. I needed to be grooming Giz ... so we're not going this morning over to the Rescue Group fund-raiser.
I started using pro-biotics 4-days ago. It ain't workin so far! This is one of those times that living alone is not so good! It seems that my chemo withdrawal now is worse than the side effects of the chemo. I need to call my mentor this afternoon. Decisions need to be made!
Have some fun today.
Rob & Gizmo
