Good morning .......
70-degrees at 6am ... then up to 88 today. Gizzy needs a haircut.
Michele ....... A Lab is a great dog. Three years ago, it made my short list - but two things about a Lab you should know. They do take a LOT of excercise ..... and surprising to me, they shed quite a bit.
Gizzy's GF is a Yellow Lab mix - but a small one at 40 to 45-pounds. Her owner tells me about the shedding - very short hairs but shedding a lot. And they do walk her at least three times a day.
Your advantage though .... no zero degree days with 8" of snow.
UA ...... I hope you realize I was kidding about being upset. Actually there are professional soccer teams in this country - but the World doesn't recognize them! There has been a Chicago team for decades. And soccer - at least in my area - has been pretty popular in high schools.
Karen ....... yes young lady - this world was very evil and wicked around the turn of the century. As I recall (from reading - I'm not that old) ..... that one could purchase evil drugs at the local apothecary around 1900. Maybe that's why the 1890's were called the gay 90's!!!!
Jessica D ...... hope your day is better today.
Chotti ........ I once had a false aralia (I think) .... and had a party at my house with some people over from work. One of the architects who came over was raising very small plants (for medicinal purposes) - and thought my aralia was a new species of his favorite plant. Thank God - he didn't try to smoke it!
And ..... there is a plant called the Papyrus - with biblical implications. I can't find one - but had one in the late 70's. It is the prefect plant for someone with a "blue thumb"! It grows like crazy in soil with standing water. It looks kind of swampish - tall, thin, growing in clusters and with umbella type heads. Ever run into that???
JB1 ....... this is not an excuse for the U.S. soccer team ... but the U.S. seems to be the only world country that does not pay their athletes for either the World Cup or the Olympics.
AV ........ so true that most pro sports have gone crazy with salaries. However, if the seats weren't sold to the customers - and the unions weren't so powerful .... it wouldn't have gotten that far out of hand.
I like basketball .... but when I see an 8th or 9th rotation person playing about 10-minutes a game - and making $3million a year ... ????
Notes:
Fathers Day was very quiet for me - slept half of the afternoon - wasn't feeling too good. But I did get a call from both daughters and a card from my oldest daughter.
My 16-year old grandaughter is starting one summer course today - a political science elective - at the college she intends on enrolling in two years.
Have a good day all.
