Good morning .....
A little dark 'n dreary this morning. Went to McD's this morning for a coffee pick-up and saw that the traffic went on as far as I could see - so turned around and headed the other direction to Starbucks. What .... 12-cars in line at the drive-up at nearly 8:30am???? So - next stop was over to DD to see if they can screw up my coffee twice in a row. Only 4-cars there - !!!!!
The above did happen today - but .... wouldn't life be wonderful if the above was the worst thing that would happen????
AV ...... what can we do for you? A lot of us would like to help! Maybe ... you can write out a list of priorities .... most immediate ones first. Affording to feed your kids sounds like a real high priority. So ... why are you even thinking about a college fund at this time. Please don't do that to yourself.
Saving money .... in small amounts .... might be a high priority if you have enough income coming in. So ... income, from whatever source, is a high priority too.
Can I tell you that when my youngest daughter graduated from H.S. - she told me she didn't expect any help toward college from either me or her mother. She didn't hold that against either of us.
You have the job of shaping two children into adults (in time) - and that job is far more important than having a college fund for them.
And of course, a very high priority is taking care of yourself .... because your kids need you, want you in their lives and love you. So - forget about a college fund! There are many more important things first.
Jessica D ...... hello there! It sounds like one or two people didn't have enough coffee yesterday before they saw your name! By the way, where the heck did the name "s2s" come from????
HT ....... thanks my good man. Now I know where the "tea and crumpets" came from in the old Basil Rathbone movies!!!!
Chotti ...... another plant story!!! Long ago, when living in Florida, we bought a Ficus Benjamina - one of the most popular larger houseplants as you know. It turns out they don't like AC so much - so it didn't do too well the first year.
The next year, I planted it outside next to the house and it grew from a 5' high to an 8' high plant with much more fullness. So, I year later, I planted it at the rear corner of ourt lot.
We moved 3 to 4-years after that - and by the time we had moved, that Ficus was a 10" diameter tree with a spread of easily 20 feet and about 25 feet high. Darn ...... I miss how fast plants grow in Florida!!!!
Notes:
No new news on the cancer front. My appatite might be getting better though - I hope!!!! No word yet from my mentor - hope he's OK!!! My Oncologist is on vacation this week. My stent replacement is now on hold too - but for a different reason. But ..... there are times thru the day when I do feel fairly good! That's an improvement.
Very little pelvic pain (where the cancer has grown) and almost never anypain from the kidneys. Now .... why am I such a lousy housecleaner? Never used to be!!!!
Have a good day all.
