Good morning ..........
What a night. Thunder like I've never heard before - it shaked the house at times. Major lightning shows most of the night. No tornado touchdowns that i've heard of - but the rain was heavy. I noticed the huge crabapple tree next to my front door was damaged - one of it's six trunks must be split. The leaves are nearly touching the ground on the smallest (6") trunk.
The biggest feature of our little development is all the trees. And unfortunately, a 10" to 12" diameter ash (at my driveway) was cut down earlier this week - due to the emerald ash borer problems in this area recently!
I saw the creek, downhill from me, is growing since last night. You can't see the creek because of all the trees and heavy vegetation next to the creek - but you could sure hear the creek running fast and loud this morning.
There are a lot of road clearance problems and traffic lights out in the general area. Again - no touchdowns though of a tornado. Gizmo was a total basket case last night.
Hope the rough weather was limited in area.
Karen ....... Zorro's horse. That's actually a trick question!
HT .......... sometimes pre-occupation is a good thing! Hope yours is about fish 'n chips!
JB1 ......... say young lady, whatever happened to your thoughts of a Summer trip, maybe some museum hopping and the beauty of carribean blue???
Michele ......... Woof! That was from Giz! He wanted to let you know he's partial to Yellow Labs!!! Good luck today - that was from me! I'll bet this is kind of exciting for your son!
AV ........... I'm so sorry. I think I forgot to wish you a congratulations for the commitment of money coming in. I know too much about lowered immune systems - very sorry to hear that about your throat. Wishing you the best ..... and consider a little fun time in the future - for yourself!!!
UA ......... yes - Captain Ramon was a villain! Say - you did thank Trina and Karen for covering your back .... BUT .... they too are moderators. Who is covering theirs?
from Gizmo ........ can i come to the party if Michele gets a Yellow Lab?
from party central ......... who is handling the entertainment - that is besides Trina on crutches doing the Limbo?
Notes:
My zero hour is getting closer - that of going to the University of Chicago! My new-to-be doctor looks pretty young by his picture - but I see he's been in practice for 20-years. He's the Section Chief of Hematology/Oncology and he has impressive credentials with his medical school being Yale University, his internship at Michael Reese Hospital and his fellowship at the University of Chicago Medicine.
I contacted my hospital yesterday to order the disc copies of my catscans (many) and bonescans (two). I talked to my Oncologist last Friday, and they had already sent a copy of my file to the U. of C. And today, I need to copy the PDF file e-mailed to me from the U. of C. - and start filling in the info they're requesting.
In a way, it's kind of sad that I expect I may never go back on the chemo I was just on. The Jevtana (chemo type) did work for me for 5+ months. I started a thread last October on the Prostate Cancer Forum - and, as of a couple of days ago, there were over 13,000 hits (views) on that thread.
Back in October, I had a pretty good feeling that this chemo might be the one that would work - and that chemo was very new at the time. So - I started a thread to document my experiences with that chemo. A couple of other people joined me in time. One of them passed away in March. And the other one is very depressed that her husband is not responding to that chemo any more. A third wife just wrote last week that her husband was denied access to the clinical trial they were trying to get into.
I'm thinking of stopping that thread now. Yep, one of my biggest sources of depression cannot be helped by meds. Attitude is where it's at! Still thinking about it!
Peace and wellness
