I believe that cipralex is generic for Lexapro. Correct me if I am wrong. It can take awhile for the meds to start working. I am glad she is crying instead of screaming. This is a huge improvement.
I am sorry that you are going through all this. Is there anybody, maybe a therapist that you could see to help you cope? It would help you to get through this until she starts feeling better. I am thinking a couple of weeks since she does have antidepressants in her system from the citalopram, it might speed up the process. Antidepressants often take six to eight weeks to reach full potential, though the patient can start feeling better before that.
I am sorry for the loss she suffered. Especially somebody so close. Does she see the psychologist often? I use to go once a week at one time, I go every other month now.
I can imagine what you are going through. Let your wife know you are there for her. She may spend a lot of time alone at this point. That is pretty normal. She is going to get better, it is just going to take a little time. In the meantime, post here, and know we are here for you...
Hugs, Karen...
