Sorry for short post. High pain day :-( ... Neck and back is killing me. Can't wait to get home and lie down. In work until later.

Thunderstorm warnings, and in the mid-90s with high humidity. Storms came through yesterday and ripped a trellis off of our balcony. I went out to get some parsley for dinner, and stood gaping at the open area.

At the library. Made a list of staffing places to visit, and developed covers and a resume for them. I am registered at one staffing location, but the girl they have doing the outgoing calls speaks so quickly and slurs her words so that any information left is gibberish. I only know the office called by searching the number online. I ought to have called back, but am astounded that their professional contact would be so bad. Yes, I am ashamed of myself.

Plan to hit the gym before heading home. Have a gyno appt for tomorrow, since I am still bleeding quite heavily despite BC. I think my body is headed to menopause.

Good afternoon .......

   Weatherman lied. It did get up to 80 - but that's fine - no 90+!

   Hawkeye02 .......... I'm in the Chicago area - NW burbs actually. It's not exactly the appatite - because  I do get hungry - then the thought of food is very disgusting. I got up this morning with severe nausea - and I think it has more to do with how my body has changed after over 2-years of chemotherapy. But - I'll take any suggestions!

   Myself ....... wish I could eat up!

   UA ......... take care of yourself.

   Michele ........ yes - Gizmo is a little s**t at times! Exotic food ... to me is just food I don't normlly eat. My NP yesterday suggested a tuna melt using havarti cheese! I told her I was going to pick-up some havarti ... just love that cheese!!!!

   Karen ....... enjoy the cool weather.

   AV .......... sounds like you got a lot done yesterday!~!! Bet that felt good!

Notes:

   Had some stupid tax assessor stuff to do today - but I did get signatures notarized of someone who could identify my passed mother and for me too.

   Picked-up some Egg Drop soup for a late lunch - and within 45-minutes, Montezuma had his revenge!!!!! Nasty!!!!

   Except for water - that's all I've had today. Need to pick-up the meds presribed by the NP yesterday. The prednisone may help the eating and the nausea med seems to be needed now.

   Hey Michele ..... my Austin girl has gotten used to running in the early evening/late afternoon now. But I think she'de still really like to get back up here for the chicago Marathon in the Fall.

   When I told her how nice the drive was on Lakeshore Drive (near the museum campus) and how impressive the skyline was from about 7-miles south .... she told me that's where she used to run with her group! I think she misses parts of this area!

   Time to take Giz out.

Thanks for all your advice. Your words to others are very supportive and helpful.

If you are down by the U of Chicago campus, there are two places I recommend. I used to go to a place called the Medici. They have great milkshakes and burgers there. Also a very nice place to sit out. Edwardos pizza is right there to. I miss thin crust Chicago style pizza with in square slices.

It is amazing that in the evening (its evening). I always feel a little better. Mornings are awful. I feel so bad and depressed. I can't even leave the house. But right now I feel almost ok. Is this normal? Is this the result of the meds or just the depression talking? My depression has never been this bad in the morning.

Is your pain mgmt doc an anesthesiologist? Mine was and I found he was more sympathetic to my pain levels. He didn't freely give pain meds, but he did try and meet my pain needs. Keeping you in my thoughts.....

Jaimee, coffee, I can only do 1-2 cups in am, otherwise I am up all night long, even though the meds make me sleepy. Strange I know.

I don't watch the tour, have not been watching TV much at all lately. It hurts my eyes and after I while I just want quiet. I need to get my eyes checked. Procrastinating on this.

Well we have guest coming for dinner tonight and I have to straighten the house and set the table. So I am off.

Rob, could you try a Japanese steakhouse? Its good and different.

The pain management dr is had multiple certifications, degrees and such. While waiting an elderly gentleman sat next to me. He needed help with his paperwork because of poor eyesight. I helped him and he was very kind. I also witnessed a lady raise a huge commotion because the dr wouldn't give her pain medications. They had to threaten to call the police to get her to leave. It was a little scary.

After he did a thorough exam he said I'm to take pain medication 3 times a day wether I hurt or not. He lectured me that I need to be taking it. He scheduled me to come back 3 separate times for a series of shots in my back. If the shots help he will cauterize the nerves in my back. That could get me 6 months to a year of being pain free. He said this is going to be a life long problem and will worsen with time. I'm a bit disappointed but glad he's going to help me. Now I'm waiting for a plumber to fix some major leaks. I'm ready to have water.

I looked up cortisol levels, but it was very confusing. It more talked about the tests that are used to measure it. My mornings are crap, and its right from the point I wake up. Like the sleep is bad and it caused it. Can you expand on what cortisol levels are and how they might be something causing my morning problems?
