Finally approved for Brintellix

So my brintellix prescription finally went through, so that should ease my mind to some degree, unfortunately this is one of the most expensive AD's I have ever been put on, My insurance company saved me 316.00, so if I ever lose my insurance I am SOL.

So it better be a miracle drug, that will give me super powers(and I mean real ones not delusional ones)

What's weird is now I even wonder if the drug is helping me or making me worse, but I think being off of it for a few days didn't make things better, and coming off the lexapro at the same time.

Okay thank you for the heads up, I will call them and find out.

Cilly how long after taking it did the "side effects" appear? I took it for 7 days straight until I had the insurance issue, and I believe I have been back on it for 2 or 3 days.

I try to not look at the symptoms that I could possibly have with a medication, because 9 times out of 10 I will have them just because I am anxious about having them, so I forgo the pamphlet included, because most symptoms they list are contradictory at best, and I am sure that is just the pharmaceutical company covering every possible symptom. If I can get diarrhea and constipation at the same time then that is truly a mystery.

I do believe it gives me an upset stomach, and maybe a headache, my eyes have been swollen when I wake up, but that could be a symptom of me crying, I could shed one tear drop and my eyes are like slits.

I am really only worried about adverse reactions as far as being allergic to the medication, unfortunately I have a tricky system with medications, so this scares me. I do feel lethargic most of the day, but I am just lazy right now.

Hmmm, I will talk to my doctor about the side effects tomorrow, typically with me if I have an adverse reaction it is within the first week, but that is usually if I am allergic to something in the medication.

I know all of our systems are different, and some have this and some have that, I am just hoping I don't have this or that, just hope I can start getting better.

LOL@Lisa in reference to the "scare sheet", if you don't mind I will borrow that from you. Yeah me and the scare sheet do not get along, I would much rather read a good Dr. Seuss book, I too will develop every symptom on the sheet.

Ellen how long were you on the 10 mg's when the depression increased? Hoping there is no possible way that I can be anymore depressed than I already am.

LOL@Lisa, you are so right girl, I read that and it has been down hill from there, I know we all have different situations with medications.

Just read that eating cashews are the same as an anti-depressant, cashews are expensive, wondering if my doctor can change my brintellix to a prescription of cashews?(and before you ask, I do NOT have a nut allergy)

I was on Brintellix 10 mg. three weeks and had depression before I went on it and depression went away, then after three weeks depression came back. We increased to 20 mg., and between that and therapy I seem to be doing OK. My biggest concern is that the anti-depressant effect will wear off again.

Anyone experience a wearing off with this drug.

Hate the high co-pay. $50, $100 if I order three month supply.

Brenda- I just bought a can of cashews at CVS. I wish they were chocolate covered lol.

Side effects take time to appear ,for me upset stomach was right away .It took good 2-3 weeks for panic attacks ,racy heart ,headaches and fever to all hit me once plus weird nightmares.
I have reduced dose now but even that's not working so i am going to lexapro in few weeks ,hope that will bring calmness to weird symptoms or i need to see a cardiologist as my left and right arm pain is bothering me lately a lot ,sorry for soooo much ranting just feel jumpy today.

I just want to share that I had similar side effects that cilly had! I was started on 5mg which did not do much and then moved on to 10mg. The first 2 weeks I had a lot of issues with acid reflex (sp) nausea, and feeling tired way too much!! I mean not even the stimulant that I usually take did anything for me! It was so hard for me to get out of bed and go to work. Once I hit the 2 week mark on 10mg of Brintellix I started feeling the same exact way cilly did!! It is terrible. I work up last night with the worst panic attack I have EVER had in my life, I had chills, I felt cold, like I wanted to throw up, very panicky, and scared. Right now I took a sedative but even that won't do anything. I feel like my anxiety is worse right now than when I am not actually taking any pills..(which is not a good sign for me since I think Brintellix was a last hope type of thing for me.

I can't explain why these symptoms didn't occur when I first started the medicine, but all I know is that I am scared. I already e-mailed both my psychiatrist and therapist, and I am honestly afraid to leave the house (Thats how bad anxiety I have).

I have been on cymbalta for five years and not feeling quite myself , so my doctor wants my to try Brintellex. Wondering how the switch will be? I struggle more with anxiety than depression.
