If you've gone off medications, it could be that it's kicked up from that. When I tapered off Cymbalta, close to the end of a slow taper, my heart went nuts and I started having what felt like jolts in my heart that would radiate out like throwing a stone into water and watching the circular waves radiate out. It was happening every few minutes at its worst. I had to go back on Cymbalta, eventually doubling the dosage until it got more stable. Then I had to deal with other side effects, like severe hot flashes caused by the drug. Eventually I tapered off so very slowly that it took me around a year and a half to finally get off. I don't know why it did this to me. It didn't start until I went almost off the med though. It eventually went away.
I've recently been diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) but I don't think that it's the same thing as what was going on with the Cymbalta. As a note, I'm pretty much unable to take most antidepressants. Low doses of Elavil is the only thing I'm able to handle.
