Since the tender age of 14 I have been in a constant battle with depression. Sometimes it will go away and leave me alone for a little while, other times it sticks around to disrupt my life.
For the last couple of years it has become a big disruption to my life.
This past Sunday, I had a major brake down and ended up going into the ER to get evaluated. Even though it was quite a nerve wracking place to be at, between the security guards, metal doors with tiny windows, I found talking to the doctor to be a good experience. I felt like I was being listened too, finally.
I have been recommended to try a day program for 5 days. I will begin Oct 2. The program entails group meetings, meetings with therapists, meetings with physicologists, etc.
I am a little nervous about starting this, but I do think it will be helpful in my recovery. I will update on the progress as it happens.
