I cross posted this same post in the anxiety forum:
Anyone ever take Lamictal and while increasing, it amped up anxiety? I was on 25mg for 2 weeks then 50mg for 2 weeks and now 75mg for just 4 days. Haven't had a panic attack in awhile now and morning anxiety had been quelled for a few months. Last day or 2, Ive had increased anxiety/agitation and had to take my xanax first thing in the morning yesterday and today.
The only change in my regime is increasing the lamictal to 75mg, 5 days ago.
Thanks for any input! Will be callin psych today to ask about
this.

I would call the psych, I haven't heard of these medications causing anxiety myself, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Just going up on a med can cause anxiety in me. Even though it isn't necessarily the med itself, just the change.
I really hope that you feel better. I hope that the Xanax helped you. I take it too, have for years, it seems to be a good medication.
Take care and do keep us posted. Good luck with the psych doc too... I hope that they have an answer for you...
Hugs, Karen...

i felt very up n down whilst increasing the lamictal. better that i am stable on a theraputic level. lamictal is a slow and steady med. it slowly kicks in. best like karen has said, check with ya doc. hoping you feel better soon.

Hi Cilly!
Thanks for checking in on me. That anxiety I had for a cpl of days went away. I also went back from 75mg Lamictal to 50mg. Idk of it was coincidence or the meds. I might try the higher dose again as Turtle & someone else said they had a bit of increased anxiety when upping the dose.
How're u Cilly? I've been praying for you <3
Sending Love-

no miracle pills sadly..................i attribute it to:
GUTS AND DETERMINATION!!!!
1, must wear armor for protection, 2. shield..to hinder attack and promote yours. 3. blade. this is to slay the dragons.
last of all is the steely battle cry...........then ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MEDS DO HELP.........BUT GUTS AND DETERMINATION WILL WIN OVER ALL ILLS. PS MANY FORMS OF GUTS AND DETERMINATION.

Lisa,
Like Jaime said there is no medication that takes all our symptoms away for 100% of the time.
Remember to use your coping skills. Learn more of them and build that tool box.
You have not done so yet, review the links for skills on the depression resource thread at the top of the forum, I think it is page 3.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Peace
Trina
