Iodine and vitamin D deficiency

Iodine and vitamin D deficiency have been linked to depression. Might want to get these things checked. Could be the problem with depression.

My friend is taking iodine for fibromyalgia and says it works...

i am down on vit d. but let me tell you one thing. been on the best tablets a few times round now and my vit d levels only went up 3 points.only mildly vit d deficient now. i'll stick to the sun. and walking. i need the exercise.

Most of the population is deficient on vitamin D and iodine. The iodine has been depleted from the soil and most people do not spend enough time in the sun. If you are taking a supplement and the level has not come up you should considered that vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. It needs to be in fat for the body to absorb it. For sure getting it from the sun is best and we all need exercise to be healthy. I live in an area where I can't get it from the sun in the winter time so if is necessary for me to take the supplement. When I first had mine check I was 19 ng/ml. The level I was given for good health was 30 ng/ml to 90 ng/ml. I was given some vitamin D2 by my doctor but I felt the vitamin D3 is best so took 5000IU of D3 a day for 3 months. After 3 months my level was 72 ng/ml. Here is an article explaining the vitamin D issue.

I take 5000iu daily of vitamin D3. It does help. I don't get outside a whole lot so I take it in the summer too. The doc gave me some strong ones for a month, then I started taking 5000 iu daily.

If I don't take it I notice a difference in my mood and the way that I feel, so it is a daily thing for me now...

it's interesting how the effects of something differ between people. i need out more. too much inside. thx for the thread e2bw. my fiance is in the uk, not a whole lot of sun, summer a bit, have been over the last 2 years but she gets SAD. she gets out asap. i need to adopt her approach as i am fat, out of breath, and just yuck. me aussie.

Don't know my iodine and vitamin D levels. I'll have them checked then this weekend. Thanks for sharing the links.
