Need some help for hot flashes and did not know where to posts this...mainly need help to stop waking in a cold sweat...what helped you, are you on hrt?
Drinking water at night makes me wake haing to rush to the bathroom and does not help and do you use any of the icool products?
Wish there was a forum for this or for problems that affect us women...

I know what you mean... I been through it. I am so glad the sweats are over for me. I just get them a little now and then. I still get the hot flashes though... Not a lot...

Maybe we could use this thread for information and sharing...

Only have them once in a great while, I am only 53. I would try the a health/natural herbal store and see what they can tell you.

Why not try the pillow that stays cold? Chilling pillow I think?

I also ended up with a floor standing ac in my room to help. It was set to 68 degrees every night. It especially helped during our unbearable Texas heat.

I can only wish that Under Armor would create "wicking" sheet sets.  Hey...maybe Shark Tank submission or next QVC explosion, huh?

I went into full blown menopause (surgically induced) @ 33...no stages or phases...pure unmitigated HELL for 2 years.  I think there may be bodies buried in my back yard.  I know my husband's testicles are;)

I SOAKED the sheets, the mattress several times nightly.  I smelled like chicken shart every morning.  It was just a miserable time.  I'm sorry for you.  Your sheets will eventually dry out, but then again...so will your vagina.  Gr-r-r-r

It isn't always that bad for everybody. I went through it kind of early. Was premenopausal since my 30's. But when you know what it is, and can prepare for it, for some people it isn't that bad. The hormones get going through. But mindfulness helps with that.

And extra nighties for sweating at night. The yucky part of the night sweats is you get cold when you come out from under the covers. I would hurry into the bathroom. Put a dry towel around me. Whatever works.

I am 56 now and havn't had a cycle for a few years. I can't remember how many. But life is still good for me. Even with aggravating symptoms. So hang in there. Learn what works for you.

Well went to whole foods yesterday and got black licorice, vitamin C and something called complete hot flash relief and had a hard night last night with crazy night sweating...
Sure hope this gets under control soon...Hubby bought us a small hot tub as a Christmas present as my pm gave me a script for it last year and I so want to enjoy it and then bam get hot flashes...but, I'm not giving up on this hot tub...I will use it...will use the hot tub...going to keep positive and not let the hot flashes get to me...
Anything else that could help? Please...

I think that there are some herbals that help. Maybe black cohash??? Don Quoi??? Evening Primrose is suppose to help. I am not positive about the other two. I took hrt for a few years but got microcalcification sp... on my left breast so the doctor took me off of them. I totally did like the premerin and provera. But they can be bad for you.

The night sweats are really uncomfortable. Have you talked to the doc about how bad it is? I made it through though, I think you can also. Being prepared helps a lot. I still sweat at night a little, but usually not a lot. You never can tell with these things though when something could change or happen again...

I find layers of clothes helps during the day, or keeping a sweater on hand. I hope that this helps some. I will write more if I think of it.

worst thing about hot flashes were they woke me up and then I got anxiety racing thoughts...
when I had the night sweats from taking a high does of prednisone for the RA I used to powder myself up before bed and put a sleeveless t shirt on under my pjs. When i woke up soaking wet I went to the bathroom- stripped- powdered myself back up and put my pjs back on without the wet t shirt and that lasted me until morning...

Thank you, someone told me tonight two teaspoons lemon juice in some warm waer could help and I'll try that. I don't see the endocrin doctor until March, but I see my RA doctor on Tuesday and will ask him....
Lemon juice ladies...in warm water...
Any other ideas...

I sometimes drink lemon in hot water, it is suppose to be good for your liver.

I tried the warm lemon water and got very sick to my stomach last night and will try lemon zigger tea instead but on next Tuesday.... got to try something else...fingers crossed I can find something to work...

I just know fighting it does no good. So I tried to embrace and go with it... Was a lot easier...
