Need Hope & Encouragement & Remeron experiences?

After 6 months of this depression episode, I feel beaten. I have now tried three different SSRI's and although they worked years ago when I had my first depressive episode, they are not working (enough) for this one.

I wasn't due to see my psych for another two weeks but he wants me to come in tomorrow due to the way I'm feeling.

Has this happened to people before (SSRI working, then not working later) and did it help to try an SSRI from a different class either on it's own or in combination with the SSRI.

The one I've been researching a lot is Remeron. According to what I've read, it has the quickest onset of therapeutic effects and it works differently than an SSRI. I've heard of it being monotherapy as well as an add on to an SSRI.

Has anyone used Remeron, either on it's own or in combination therapy.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am losing all hope that I will ever be normal again and I'm beginning to feel like a burden to my husband and three kids and like they'd be better off without me.

Wellbutrin is a very good addon for the Paxil & increasing the Abilify may be exactly what you need!

Chele takes an SSRI, wellbutrin & Lamictal- very similar combo you're going to start. She too had a year? (Chele correct me if I'm wrong), of finding the right combo.

Prozac was my "miracle drug" back in the day. When I tried it years later (it'd gone generic), it didn't work so yes, a med that was once a miracle for me, didn't work years later.

Hi Keaz-

This is only my 2nd day on 20mg. I also decreased the Pristiq from 50mg to 25mg today. Hoping that goes smooth.. I'm to stay on the regimen til I have my follow up in a month. I was told I could stop the Pristiq before that but I don't want to go off too fast as I'm afraid of discontinuation symptoms (not afraid of physical symptoms but mental ones like anxiety). I have xanax though & I will use it as necessary.

Wellbutrin did not give me anxiety. I had a headache for a few days but that was it & who knows if the headache was even from it as I have allergies & get sinus headaches.

Bottoms up & swallow that pill tmr. You're going to be ok.

I am doing ok. No significant side effects from starting wellbutrin, but my mood is so low. Sometimes I think it'd be beneficial to check into a hospital, but I'm so scared to do that.
