ok here goes. cbt, dbt, cct act, tms, emdr, ect, glsc, any others? i was thinking about all of the acronyms.

Alright you 2, I know better than this. Karen, you use art, crocheting and meditation.

Myself, I believe you use exercise to some extent and some others.

Yes! I have called you 2 out!

I know, kick the soap box away, coping skills are just close to my heart and HT started this great thread, just don't want to see anyone selling themselves short.

I thought he meant therapy. I have many coping skills... Mindfulness, meditation, breathing, (sleeping), art, and just do it... Ha!!!

Yep, exercise. Gym bag packed and waiting. Meditation is also very helpful.

I also force myself to make decisions, even about little things. A successful small decision lays the process of change, and starts a habit.

Action, of mind and body, is better than inaction.

LOL--I got tied up in the acronym thing.

I crochet ... Well I try anyways I know 3 stitches and can make rectangles, squares , triangles , and lop sided beanies. Hey they're unique. But I have often wondered is it coping or just plain ignoring my circumstances . Idk ....but I am self taught so it's as good excuse as any ...
Watch out for other acronyms like CIA FBI DOT NSA IRS FRA and UFO's unless you work for SETI then it's ok to talk to ET without being reported to the PD. devil idea or is this TMI ?

I think it is coping. I do the same thing with a lot of things. I just plain forget about things...

Great topic…..

I use distraction and my main coping skill. Sometimes I de-stress by lying my head on a pillow and just calming my mind down.

I am going to try to get back into exercising.

CBT and good old coping skills, also like Trina FAITH. More and more I find that is what gets me through the day.

What a great topic! I use meditation and work a lot on only allowing positive thoughts in. I also use prayer. unfortunately I also use food for comfort. Got to work on that one!
