doctors do not explain anything ... no individual service ... feel like I am on a deli line
most information is on the net or though healing well website. their main goal seems to be to make money.

one doc i am seeing about barretts espaughus (no spelling genius) complains about her sinuses and allergies for two years straight./

the nurse (very low level, i would assume) who i saw at my doctors' office said that she did not like "sick" visits, only follow-ups and wellness visits.

i fell during my visit to get my espaughus checked because all these "nurses" were busy and fighting and horrible about taking me downstairs.

the doc lied about it being part of st peter's hospital, it is "modeled under st. peter's hospital" which is a distinct difference.

had a doc from Romania try to get me out of the hospital by lying about my pulse rate because the hospital there would make more money on medicare with a re-admit at that time.

I am sorry for your experience. But don't let it keep you in the muck... I have had a few surgeries and honestly I don't think the doctors have all the answers. I feel like an experiment every time I go in. And then there are doctors and nurses that really shouldn't be. No compassion in my opinion. We become routine to them, and often they don't like patients that are out of their norm. Problem patients we become.

Money, yes, I totally agree with a lot of what you are saying about that. It is sickening to think about. But there are some compassionate doctors out there who really care. We just have to be able to find them. I have seen them, they do exist. But we aren't always lucky enough to get one. I, myself, am searching...

Try to move on. Did your surgery come out okay? Are you still healing? Often it takes a really long time. I had my tubes tied in the 90's. The doctor punctured my uterus. I ended up with pelvic inflammatory disease. It was horrible. But I think that there are risks to all surgeries. I am just glad I am okay. It took me a long time to heal though. I couldn't even walk for a few days. My neighbor had it done around the same time I did and she was fine. Oh well, I guess... It is over and just a memory now.

Yes, medical experience can be terrible. However we must be proactive and find better docs. They are out there!

I use to wear a medical alert bracelet until I had emergency surgery and NO ONE looked at it and I ended up with untreated trigeminal neuralgia pain for 3 days on top of the surgery pain.

Everyone makes mistakes, nothing is a given, we have to stand up for ourselves and make sure our love ones will too.

i have no loved ones, my husband died in 1993.

what upsets me is that these creeps will complain about getting their french fry orders wrong but feel so elevated about themselves

will not be seeing anybody until April, I hope. Stay away from them, that is my strategy.

i have found some excellent dr's. yep hard to find though. alike karen, i have had many surgeries, some nurses, as karen rightly said should n't be there, along with some dr's, these are the stuck up consultants that come in like once a month to see us poor buggers. rude, arrogant etc. my shrink said that we over test nowadays, and promote a fear in patients. i had this with my white cell numbers, until my shrink explained everything. i guess joan, i am like you, as per need basis. feel better soon.

Joan do you go to a support group?

4 years ago when I disclosed my abuse, my whole family shunned me. 14 ppl. Every blood relation.

My husband and MIL are all I have.

I joined a Depression Support group so I would not wear my husband down. It was hard at fist, they say 6 wks, took me 6mos to trust and get comfortable with everyone.

Now I go 2 times a week. Made a few friends and we can depend on each other.

Nice to know people are thinking the same things. We share coping skills and methods.

I did go to adult children of alcoholics through I am quite old but now I just go to a nearby non-denominational Christian Church which is very near where I live.

Both places were very good. The problem is that here lately it has been an average of 12 degrees so have not been venturing out a lot. All slippy-sliddy stuff.

I also like to swim indoors (outdoors during the summer) but it is just a mess here and I have asthma. I know a lot of people through swimming.

This is great for me because of my arthritis but TOO COLD now On channel 6 news they showed how the Hudson River has been frozen and the Coast Guard has to go through and cut up the ice. I am so afraid of coming down with pneumonia. That is very bad for asthmatics.

Thanks for letting me spill my beans, so to speak.
