Feel worse on increase

I seem to be feeling more down on the increase of zoloft. Feel no hope. More crying. Called doc. Wants me to come in monday to maybe change meds. So frustrated. Tired of feeling down all the time and crying. Sorry just upset.

My husband went through a period on Zoloft where he felt worse too. May the dose went too high too quick and now your getting side effects from the increase.

Sometimes that happens on increases, and goes away in a few days. I hope that is the case. Switching meds can be the pits... I sure do hope you feel better soon.

Have you talked to your doctor about adding Abilify? I can tell you first hand that it is an awesome pill, I wouldn't give it up for anything. Although still depressed some, I don't ever cry, and don't feel so hopeless since i've been on it. Anyway, thought I'd mention it to you, its like a mood stabilizer that you take along with an anti-depressant.

Thank you all very much for your support and angel Lisa I go to him on next Wednesday I might ask him about it. Of course I've heard scary things but you have no problems taking it?

I've had no problems taking it, zero side effects. I started on 10mg too (which is high, most start on 2.5 or 5mg), went up to 15mg (my gp dr put me on it) was on that for awhile but shrink thought that was too high and put me back down to 10mg. I've had no problem with the 10mg and it works is the best thing of all. :) Wish you the best of luck, I know doing the merry go round of finding what pill works is a headache, so hopefully you find something soon.

I will add that my shrink took me off abilify for about a month, as he didn't think it was needed or something. Within the first week, I was crying about everything and anything, felt super hopeless, and knew I was going into a deep depression, so when I went back to see him, I demanded to be put back on abilify and that's when we started the 10mg again. I started with 10 mg both times and I had no side effects from starting that high. Again, I will never go off it again, that month off it was miserable.

That's great I'm very happy it works for you. do you take it with another antidepressant or buy itself? Did you have a large weight gain with it? Thank you for all the information I appreciate it.

NO weight gain with it and Yes I take it with Effexor right now, only low dose of 37.5 but will raising that on my next appt to probably 75mg. I have also taken it with cymbalta and wellbutrin. I've been taking Abilify for about 3 years now, I knew it worked but being off it that month made me realize how much it worked.

There are also other mood stabilizer too but I've never been on any other so I only know about abilify.

I take Abilify also Barb. I feel a lot better than I use to. I took it with Effexor for awhile then with Pristiq. It does help antidepressants work better and it helps you not think too much. I wouldn't give it up either. There are other mood stablizers if it doesn't work for you.

I hope you get some relief soon.

Oh and if you get a chance, check out mindful.org on the resource thread. Maybe it will help until you can get to see the doc.

Thank you y'all today was some what better and I did not cry. YEAH. Still on that one 150 mg of Zoloft until I see the doctor next week maybe it's starting to kick in. I will pray about that tonight. Hoping all of my friends here Are feeling well.

Spoke too soon today has been a real bad day. Crying again. Down! I don't even know what to say anymore. 😓 I go to the doctor Wednesday just hate starting another new medicine.

Will your insurance pay for Latuda? It's like abilify but I hear it's cheaper, it won't hurt to check into it. I do surely hope you find something that works. I hate to see you so sad. Sending you positive thoughts, and a HUG!!

Hi Reysone77- How long did it take until you felt like your 'normal' self again? I've been on Cipralex for 10weeks now, had 2 pretty good weeks but last Sunday started to feel down again and i've been like this ever since.

Barb Will be well- How are you doing today with the increase and how long have you increased the meds? I was very suicidal and out of my mind for 6 whole days after the increase- so it might be the meds trying to adjust. If it hasn't been that long I would suggest you wait it out a bit.

I went back down to 100 mg I just could not take that feeling of the 150 could not handle the bad thoughts and crying and helplessness. going to see how the 100 does for a couple more weeks. Reysone Thank you all for your input. Savruby I hope you start feeling well soon.

Today is my 2nd day on 20mg Cipralex, felt nauseous this morning and very anxious but feeling better now.
How long have you been on the 100 then Barb?
