Lexapro vs Escitalopram do they affect us differenty?

I'm just curious does anyone else think that taking a brand name SSRI is more effective and less side effects than a generic? The reason I ask is because many years ago I was on Lexapro and had good success. I just got back in the generic and it's been 6 days with lots of side effects and increased anxiety after being off of it for a month. Just thinking back I remember in the beginning not having all the problems I have had since switching to the generic and now being back on it and having this awful feeling again. Any thoughts or expirence a would be greatly appreciated.

yes it can happen. when they tried to switch my cymbalta to generic cymbalta i had headaches and had a lot of anxiety!! I had to call my doctor so he could tell them to give me the regular cymbalta.

pharmacist told me most generics work ,,but if you react sensitive to medications like I do....i would be careful....i mean one little change can affect me really bad!

it is most likely the combination of the meds. escitroprolam vs Lexapro; it is the same, expect the manufacturing process is different, thus elements of the medication are taken up in different waves, thus causing the brain to crack the poops. the non generic is the best go, as generics must use a different compound manufacturing process, even though it is the same drug. the generic has a less stringent process as it has proven itself via clinical trials and meets all of the worlds drug and administrative regs. the non just feeds of the big fish and has less regs as the non has met all regs. hope this helps.
