Perhaps you need to see a pyschiatrist, for other specialist to find out the cause of the depression. Situational, trauma, chemical imbalance etc....
Coping skills can help all forms of depression. Medication helps but not 100%. We all have to work at our happiness, it just does not happen.
Being mindful of kindness to others, compassion to ourselves, noticing what is going on around us and getting involved helps.
Gratitude journals are a great way to start concentrating on happiness, one or two things a day, the list with grow with habit and joy.
