The railroad weeps
Teardrops stream down the twisted rails
Ties torn asunder ,lives lost in the haze
Understanding and reasoning fails
As we walk through a twisted maze
Of metal and wire ,smoke and ash
Someone cries, a survivor rises
Rescued from the train crash
We cry But this will not define us
The railroad weeps from sea to shining sea
A new dawn will break , the smoke will clear
A promise we will not forget thee
But keep the track
open for your silver tear
To whistle freely sliding along our rail
To go and touch the face of the creator
But mark for us behind a golden trail
And we'll see you a little later.
