Hi I don't often post but thought I would chime in today (got the dentist at 4pm) and am keeping busy. I've had a dental phobia for years but recently went back thanks to the help of some valium.To date I've only had extractions done but today it's a filling and I am scared. I'm doing this for two reasons for myself for when I'm older and to try and show my 24 year old son that theirs nothing to fear ha-ha I will post how I got on when I get back..........

I wish you the best at the dentist. I always hated going too. Try to relax, it will be over with in no time. Do keep busy until the appointment.

I hate it, too. And the phobia as well. I always use the gas, for otherwise my body tenses too much.

It always feels better to face the fear, than to give into it.

Thanks for support, Getting by and Myself.... Went to dentist turned out she had to extract that tooth as well because of infection but I'm glad I went just a scale and polish now and I will get a partial denture, can't wait to chew properly again!

It is so nice to be able to chew your food good. I am glad you went and got it over with... I think she pulled it, not really sure, sometimes they put you on antibiotics first. Either way. You will be happy with the partial...

Thanks Karen I'd always thought that as well, the dentist won't pull a tooth that's infected - she pulled it anyway guess she knows what she's doing!
Anyway taking a day off to chill tommorow that means no seven mile walk a nice long lie in bed Yay!
