Lamictal for depression

My doctor has been treating me for depression prior to today. However today she tells me that I am bipolar 2 and rapid cycling. She says that I still need to take my Zoloft and abilify for depresson but also start taking lamictal. Does this medication help depression? Is any one on it?

I am not on lamictal, but am on abilify. It helps quite a bit, but it went generic, I feel a little more spacy but still good. There are others here that take lamictal, I am sure that they will chime in when they see this post.

I am on Lamictal, I take the generic 50mg in am. helps alot! I have complex PTSD and dissociative disorder with major depressive disorder. Works very well with my other meds.

I would take it and keep in touch with the docs office if you have any side effects. I had none.

I was on it for a while. Didn't have any negative side effects. Don't remember why we stopped it. Good luck to you.
