I'm pretty new here. I've been having trouble juggling my health and work and family. I have CD, RA, chronic pain in my neck, anxiety and depression sneak in there. I have a pretty stressful job that just got slightly more so with a promotion (wanted and appreciated!) And at home my wife has her own business and we have 4 kids 6 and under. I'm wading through pretty well, but my hips and knees have been bothering me lately (RA?) and I had a bad neck day on Sunday. At work today I was given my first project to lead.

I feel that my best escape is music. I have some high end headphones, a massive music collection that is carefully managed on iTunes with multiple smart playlists to keep things fresh but rotating my recent favorites.

I think part of my health and depression is linked tightly to sleep, so I'm going to try to hit the sack since all the kids are asleep and my wife is out with friends. I hope everyone gets a good nights rest or has a good day, wherever you are on that spectrum!

I'm starting today off on the right foot. Plenty of neck and spine and hip pain this morning, but my head is in the right place. Going to fight through and not let it keep me down another day. I have a couple defined tasks I can tackle at work to get some momentum going. Some new music to listen to while I do it. It's going to be a good day!

Morning (Afternoon, evening, et al) chawl!

Gorgeous out today. Saw therapist yesterday. We had an outdoor concert last night, down in the metro area. Abigail Washburn, Bela Fleck,and the Punch Brothers. Really nice night--the weather cooled off and it was pleasant sitting on a blanket listening to good musicians. I bought an interesting dessert at Trader Joes--a dark chocolate ganache bar with bits of uncured bacon. Oh, dear, it was good.

Saw a really ugly bit of road rage last night a bit after midnight. Thankful to be on the periphery of it, and glad no one got hurt.

So, at one park concert a few years ago, we saw a little boy with his grandparents. He was wearing a t-shirt that said "Dude" across the front. His grandparents were having a time because they had got him all sugared up. Dude was everywhere. He was running to the playground and back,bumping into people, screeching the three year old scream of joyous abandon. I felt sorry for the grandparents, but enjoyed watching Dude manage a park full of slow lawn furniture. Kid was a force.

So,to whenever we see a kid with manic energy and a mischievious nature, we call them an F.O.D. (friend of dude). FODs are everywhere. We also watch out for D.O.Ds, here known as a Dog of Dude. We saw a great FOD last night.

Hi all. Went to psych dr yesterday. I told them(dr, nurse and student were all in the room) most everything that is going on. That I feel terrible, have negative thoughts and cry a lot.

She gave me latuda 20mg for 1 week then up to 30. Will increase wellbutrin to 450mg in a week and continue klonopin at night and can take 1/2 during the day.

Have to go to some day program. Talked to therapist yesterday evening to find out what that really is. She said a program to keep me from being hospitalized.

I'm sort of nervous about it. I guess I need something because I wake up crying. Not sure how fast latuda is supposed to work but I didn't go to sleep crying.

I guess it's because one situation after another keep piling on before I can get the ones at the bottom under control. Maybe the program will keep me from having a complete mental breakdown.

I'm going to an outdoor concert Sunday, Myself. I will look for F.O.D. Lololol.

Getting ready for my 2 week post op follow up.

Hi Everyone. I'm trying to stay positive despite having a tough week. Starting Monday, I had some serious repercussions for not paying an important bill. I was juggling and obviously did a poor job of it. I've also been sick with stomach issues since Monday morning as well. Last night I went to an express care walk in and today went to a lab for several tests. I am only able to be home today because the doctor gave me a note to my employer saying I was not to work a few days (that did not go over the best way). Needless to say, I'm trying to find some energy at the moment to keep on going with things that need to be done.

Michele - I am so glad that you're not feeling any pain - and sorry to hear that they used the tape on you!!

Jamie: I hope your warm and sleeping at the moment.

Karen-we have a beautiful day today, low humidity. The weekend is supposed to be super-nasty--high humidity, sun, and in the mid- to upper- nineties. YUCK!

Is it any warmer Jamie? Still enjoying the Tour? Stage 12 was awesome!! I loved all the attacks int he last kilometers. Sad--we route for Nairo still,even though an American in #2 in the GC.

Cass-That has happened to me. When I am down, I sometimes make really bad choices and don't focus as well as I ought to. Usually, though, one bad experience cures me for a little.

Congrats on the program, StillMe. It sounds like a good thing for you.

Researching soda makers. I really want one-our landlord will not do recycling, and I feel so guilty about all my seltzer bottles! Still no word from the school district--thought he principal told me to not expect anything until next week. I am trying to remain realistic. Unfortunately--there are so few listings for me to apply to right now!
